Can we purchase cars above our wristband level or not?

Hello, this is a question for the devs, well I’m not even sure if they’ll entertain my silly question before the game is even out.

Would it be possible to purchase a higher class car even if I don’t have the wristband level for it yet? Like I can still buy any A-class car (Civic FL5 for example), detune/downgrade it so I can race it for B-class, work on my wristband progression, eventually unlocking A-class.

Or will all cars above our wristband level be locked until we obtain the wristband needed for them? Like in older games such as NFS:MW2005 where you’re hard-locked from buying certain cars regardless until you reach a certain level of progression.

One is more accessible, the other makes me work to earn it. Either of the two sounds good for me. Though, I suppose I can only wait until the game releases.

It’s likely going to be like every Horizon game where you can purchase any car you want for as long as you have the credits, but you cannot enter them in races until your wristband level is good enough.

Also I’m hoping that if you complete a race event, you’d be able to replay it on all available car classes depending on your wristband progression.

so your saying i can drive any class in the open world, but when i race i can only race the ccars in my wristband class?

In an interview posted by AR12Gaming on YouTube, Torben Ellert explained how FH6 will offer progression in the career (festival) while keeping the sandbox for those who just want to drive and explore.

The interview published Jan 23rd. It’s the second half of the video at 10 minutes and 33 seconds.

thats ggreat mate

Rewatching this interview made me appreciate Torben as the creative lead more. His brief speech on the magic and appeal of cars felt more special than whatever riff raff Mike Brown said during his tenure as creative lead.

You probably can, given that they will still be useable in freeroam and unofficial street races even if you haven’t completed the main festival campaign.

Yes the wrist band thing is for the campaign basically if you js wanna drive around you can

In short: yes. But you cannot enter them in official Horizon Festival races if your wristband is not worthy enough (purple gets you to drive hypercars and other such cars in S2 class).
