Hi Guys,
Can a UK Citizen legitimately buy DLC content from eBay.com in the USA and then redeem that code in the UK on the 30th September which is US release day? Why cant they just release stuff everywhere on the same day?

You could theoretically change your region to US but what do you plan to do about your IP address?
Simultaneous worldwide release of physical media is more difficult than it appears, hence it really only happening for the largest games.
I wouldnt and dont plan on doing anything that may breach any T&C’s as I am a clean, straight laced gamer. I just wondered if it would be an offence to purchase DLC code from US tonight and redeem it - I wouldnt need to change my region to do this would I? or would I?
I am waiting for MS to come back to me - I just see this as a loop hole and not an exploit… but I want to check it out first just in case it could result in suspension/deletion of account
Okay, so there’s Straightlaced84… ^
And then we have his brother, RufR1der…
Oh, FM.net community, your unintentional comedy is amusing! XD
I value my stats and gamerscore too much to take uninformed risks!
What DLC content do you specifically mean? There is DLC currently available for sale in the online store, you can buy and install it right now if you like without any issue.
The Digital Download for the full game of Horizon 2. It isnt out in UK until 3rd. Its out tomorrow in US. Im not going to risk it anyway, it seems to be a massive grey area and I couldnt even get a straight answer from Microsoft ambassador!

You cannot always rely on a Microsoft Ambassador, these are people who out of good will want to help others at no cost. They may not always have the answer or knowledge that you’re looking for. If you really want a solid answer then on the xbox.com forums create a topic there with your question and hope someone from Xbox gives you the answer you need.
Either way if you’re in the UK just wait until the Thursday midnight or play it during Friday. It’s not that long to go.
I have had my digital copy downloaded for a week. In “My Games & Apps,” the icon for Horizon 2 says “pre-purchased.” If I click it, as if I’m trying to play the game, it takes me to the page for Horizon 2 in the marketplace where I am shown the message “Play it on 9/30/2014!” where the game’s price would normally be displayed.
I have a suspicion that even if you acquired a US download code, the Xbox Live Marketplace would not allow you to play until the release date in your area. There is likely more determining your regional location than the setting on your XBox or the copy of the game you have. Your ISP is location specific and the XBox Live service can likely determine your location as well.
But what do I know? I’m curious about it but don’t recommend that anyone try to circumvent release dates.

This is what I want to know as well. I’m in the Netherlands with an Xbox One with the region set to the US, and while the store does say we can play it tomorrow, I wouldn’t be surprised if we still had to wait until Friday.
Yes it is possible.
