Buyers on the auction house make no sense whatsoever

It really depends on the supply and demand for the specific car. It could be that the Ranger Raptor is already at 20m. The 90 Rx7 is not. I saw a mix of 100k and 20m listings. Most of the 20m cars were only technically painted or tuned. These probably didn’t sell because of the cheaper listings but it is an example of legend status players doing it. They just have to find a car without the other listings and it works.

It bugs me when you have a bid pending and somebody’ buys now’ on your auction even though there are about 600 other cars below with the same buyout and no bid.

Infuriates me. Happens constantly. And not only that, there’s often a lower buyout price further down the list yet they decide to just buyout the dearer one that you’re bidding on instead of one’s near the auction that have no bids on for the same buyout like you say.

And then there’s the way it doesn’t update you quickly enough if someone outbids you and the auction ends because there’s not actually been a buyout.

Or they way your bid constantly fails to be put on when you’re trying to because you’ve been outbid near the end. Then the auction also ends before you can successfully put another bid on.

The whole auction house is exasperating.

I know, right? This is beyond frustrating because they cheat us out of getting a good price for a car. All it would take is picking another car down the list that someone isn’t already bidding on (I do actually see this from time to time). I really suspect that many of these full price buyouts are done by bot accounts.

As an example, This morning I was trying to bid on the Renault Megane R26.R. This car costs 28k in the autoshow, but the buyout prices in the auction were 39-42k. I found several that had starting bids of only 3k. Each time that I bid on a car, someone would do a buyout right when the timer switched to “ending soon”. This happened literally 10 times in a row, whether or not I was bidding on a car. Out of curiosity, I checked the “winner” gamertag and found no less than 40 almost identical accounts, the only difference being the number at the end of the name. Most of these accounts had no friends or followers, many had no social activity or games played. Makes me believe they are nothing more than bot accounts.

I thought it was very difficult to hack an xbox, but I’m guessing this problems mainly comes from crossplay with PCs.

It was the same yesterday - Nissan GT-R - 132,000 at AS and everybody in the AH paying 2 to 300,000 !!!
At least I got a couple in to make some profit = especially when it also has a 100K perk on it !!!

N.B - All stock paints . tunes on the ones I sold.

I just started off FH5 this week, and I wanted to get the 04 WRX STi. Even if the car costs a measely 28k, I’m too cheap to get cars from the Autoshow, even if I had millions of CR. In FH4, most of my cars were either from wheelspins, festival playlists, or sub 20k auction purchases.

I checked the same car on the auctions “Oh great, I can get it for less than half the price”. But then even when I was winning, the auction always get bought out at the last minute for double what it’s worth.

So I purchased the car from the autoshow, and attempted to sell it on auction out of curiosity. I did that a few times, even with a high starting bid, and managed to get it sold at buyout almost every time.

there is no other logic can be applied to this, I’d never pay same or more for something i can get cheaper or at least new from the store
maybe some have covid mentality, where everything got super inflated because of it, who knows…

At least you’ve got sense - unlike most on the AH.
I always check the Autoshow before buying or even selling cars. Some people just go for the max without realising they’ll not sell because of their ridiculous asking prices.
Know the market before you bid or buy.

Good point, on the other side of the coin some cars can be bagged on a Start-Bid a lot cheaper than an Autoshow original.
Thankfully a lot of these cheaper Auctioned cars still have a ‘clean Mastery skill-tree’ included… for now.

There is another logic in that the new players can’t find the Autoshow. The menus are a bit packed with stuff.

I was in the Auction House earlier scoping for the last BMW missing from my collection.
There were two identicals on offer on Buy-It-Now at 180k with 1 min remaining.
One potential buyer was bidding against himself for BOTH !
The price would go up by 20k by this buyer,a glitch surely. Why would someone up the bidding against themselves ?
I did manage to get a half price Beema on a ‘Starting Bid’ bargain once that dodgy bidder had gone.

(P.S. Got my S1 900 Ferrari Pista ready for Thursdays Festival challenge) :o)

Even when you try helping buyers on the AH with your own auction…
