Break down of the most requested cars and tracks in these forums

I saw on the Project CARS forum a cool breakdown of the most frequently requested circuits and cars and thought that since Microsoft has the software for tabulating and displaying this information that it would be cool to see this added as a permanent feature here and updated in real time as circuits and cars are requested.

10/10, would ----post again.

A perfect 5/7

I have little interest in reading through the Track and Car Wishlist threads and tabulating the posts. I’m sure there are members here who might enjoy that sort of thing.

Perhaps if you ask very nicely and offer some cookies, ManteoMax or K’ may have a spare evening (or two).

Better be looooots of cookies.

Kinda hard to automatically register requests when you get things like “The Mustang that was in that film that one time”

Wouldn’t be hard… That request would not count. This idea would go well with my suggestion for a community choice car pack except I asked for cars from previous Forzas that are missing.

A community voted car pack did occur in forza. Not sure why it hasn’t happened again.

Well, maybe it should. I’d love to vote some cars to be in Forza, too!

Most of the cars wound up being in the game at some point or another, but the banter and people trying to rally the troops for a certain car provided for a great discussion.

If you dig around on the jalopnik website, you may find some of the cars that were up for vote. It was around 100 cars that went through several rounds of voting to get the final 10 winners.

Just looked way earlier and saw how those cars in particular were voted. Now I really want to vote for some cars even more!

Lol.

It was hands down the best community event T10 has ever attempted.

In hindsight I think most of those cars were already in the works but I think a few caught T10 off guard in terms of popularity.

Fast forward until now I think T10 knows what cars to add to the game, but hey it would still be fun to do it all over again (maybe this time with a broader spectrum of cars/trucks).

My point is unless everyone that requested the car used the exact same phrasing, then it’s not a simple thing to have automatically tracked.

Totally got that. No offense intended. I was just saying…

I think it’s a nice idea, but at the end of the day T10 give us mostly what they want us to have , not what we want. ?

I suspect Turn 10 have already laid out which cars are going to be in each pack for the rest of Forza Motorsport 6’s lifespan and that many of them have either already been completed on or are still in development.

As such the wishlist requests fall into 2 categories (this also applies to track requests):

  • Wishing for cars that are already coming to Forza Motorsport 6, but have not been announced yet.
  • Wishing for cars not planned for Forza Motorsport 6, but may depending on the quantity of requests be on the list of cars they want to create for a future title.

I highly doubt that Turn 10 would decide “today” that they’re going to add _____ based on wishlisting and are sourcing a car to scan for inclusion in Forza Motorsport 6.

From being here for quite awhile and looking at lists over the years, I can say with a strong degree of certainty these appear frequently in the lists. There’s a strong chance that at least half of these cars will show up on every single page in the wishlist thread.
-BMW i8
-Pagani Zonda R
-Ferrari F50 GT
-Ferrari F40 Competizone
-Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
-Dodge Charger Hellcat
-Nissan Silvia S14

To a bit of a lesser extent, new/newish cars that weren’t unveiled all that long ago; some of which aren’t even for sale yet or just started to be put on sale. For example:
-Ferrari 488 GTB
-Lamborghini Aventador SV
-2016 Ford Focus RS
-2016 Honda Civic Type-R

A bit of a lesser extent from there, some cars that have been requested for awhile yet never showed up.
-Toyota Chaser JZX100
-2003-04 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra [Terminator]
-Ford F150 SVT Lightning

As well as:
-LMP1 Cars
-Group C Cars
-Group B Rally Cars
-IMSA Cars
-etc.

Then, the ever helpful:

“I WNT ALL CARS FROM FM 1 2 3 4 5 IN FM6 CMON T10 LISEN TO UR FANS THE MAJORTY OF PPL WANT THES CARS HVE THEM COM OUT TOMOROW FOR MUH BIRTDAY OR I BUY PCARS”
Aside from this banter, this also includes cars that were in previous iterations that aren’t heavily requested, but still show up with some frequency, like the Delorean, Gumpert Apollo, Re-Amemiya RX-7, etc.

From there, you hit “Porsche”. This generally falls into three classes.
-Those that want Porsche, and give no models, years, trim levels, anything. I guess they just want the word.
-Those that want Porsche, and list every Porsche model under the sun.
-Those that want Porsche, but have a list of their major cars only from the past 10 years, rarely anything older than 2006-2007.

Then you run into the people who ask for cars that really don’t belong on a race track at all.
-“Coal rollers”
-Limos (Hmmmm…)
-Ambulances
-Hearses
-Ice Cream Trucks
-Busses
-You get the idea

Aside from those, cars get pretty thin. From this point, people generally have specifics on what they want.

This list doesn’t include cars heavily requested from before that we did end up getting, be it in FM6 (One:1) or in an earlier game in the franchise (M4, C7 Corvette, 4C, 458 Speciale, Veneno, Toyobarus).

You hit that spot-on.

As for tracks, most of the time you see, in no particular order:

-Fujimi Kaido (I’m no drifter, but it would be cool to see in my opinion the most challenging track in all of Forza, aside from maybe the main Sidewinder track because I’ve never played Forza 1/2/3.)
-Suzuka or insert Japanese track here
-Maple Valley or insert fictional T10 track here

Nowadays, other than the Japanese tracks, real-world tracks infrequently show up. You get the occasional Monaco here and there, but the rest might not show up on every page. There are also some non-Japanese tracks that are quite recognizable that appear sometimes. I also remember Pacific Raceways, which I think is more obscure, appearing quite a bit.

Before FM5’s release, we mainly saw Spa and Bathurst on the ballot, and guess what, we got them in FM5! But then there was the Nurburgring, and you’d probably see it a bunch of times on each page, but then we got it! For free! Then there’s stuff like Daytona, CotA, Monza, Brands Hatch, and the returns of Hockenheim and Sonoma, and they got into FM6!

However, there’s still a void to fill. Countless people want that precious mountain for drifting to come back, or that figure-of-eight Japanese track used by F1, or the track nestled on beautiful trees at autumn, or the track set in the Amalfi coast, or the track set in New York or Tokyo (anyone remember FM1?), or the track with a tri-oval and an infield section, or the track set in the canyons with an oval and a section that’s outside the oval, or the track set in the Spanish countryside coupled with a permanent road course and a track with colored off-track tarmac, or the track where the most famous Grand Prix is held, etc. No one knows when they’ll be added, and those who know aren’t posting, as Hieronymus liked to say.

I can pretty much understand what you’re saying there.
