Ive been having issues with braking since the early release. Ive found it impossible to brake with any kind of accuracy, and trailbraking is out of the question. Even with abs on the slightest touch of my brake pedal locks up my wheels.
Im using a g29 base, moza pedals and vnm shifter. Anyone else having this issue or know of a fix?
When you enter ingame, have you tried doing a complete stroke of the Pedals? Press the pedals all the way down.
I found out that some times the game doesn’t detect the full range.
If you have a load cell brake, give it a hard press.
Also use the telemetry to see how much resolution you have.
Like when booting up the game when loading into the main menu? I havent thought of that but it reminds me of something similar in gran turismo where if you wanted clutch support you had to push the clutch in during the countdown to enable it.
Its on evey car. I usually run no assists in racing game except abs on acc, as those cars are designed with abs in mind and thats tied to the physics. But i turned abs on on here thinking it would solve the problem at least but seems to have made no difference.
I have my brakes set to full force 100% in the moza software, as i have a loadcell but its nothing crazy, 75kg i think. I have tried adjusting brake pressures in tuning on the cars, and it can help somewhat but then just feels kinda muted until hitting a “brick wall” and locking up. As in, instead of getting like more fidelity it just gives me a bit more pedal travel before the brakes are starting to really be applied, and then the same thing, still making any kind of accurate and precise braking near impossible.
Also, i never had this issue with horizon either. Which makes it as strange as the fact that theres no wheel/pedal calibration in this game. I feel that having a way to actually calibrate your gear would at least help, if not solve this issue.
Never thought about that actually, and now that you mention it i did have to do that with my clutch. When i get home this afternoon im defiently gonna try that and ill report back if it works!
Just wanted to do a quick followup. Inverting my brakes absolutely did not need to be done. It did what you would expect. Full brakes on when off the pedal, less the more you pushed.
That being said though, after switching it back, it seems to have “fixed” it. I am no longer locking up with the slightest touch, and having the telemetry up confirms it. So…yay? I have no answers. I also want to note, that despite it seemingly being “fixed”, the braking still just seems to be not good in this game. Obviously this game is not in the same league as the other “sims”, i get that and dont really expect it to be. However i feel even Horizon 5, a game really being soley aimed at the casual/arcade racing crowd, has better braking mechanics in feel, precision and accuracy then this game.
I have no idea what they changed or why, but the definitely did something and it misses the mark. I feel like its still serviceable, but it is going to make it that much harder to easily switch between this game and say ac/acc
I am using standard xbox controller on series X and I use A for gas and X for braking. Certain cars only lock up the front brakes, and certain cars lock all 4. Seems to be only visual since cars still act mostly normal as if ABS is functioning properly. FM7 did not do this at all on any car. Ive watched tons of my replays on FM7 and never saw it happen even once. New FM every car i use locks up the brakes in every replay.
Not sure if you fixed your problem, but this is an issue on controller too. Have you gone to the advanced controller settings and modified your inputs? The “0 - 100” inputs
