Blueprint events: Why are all AI cars engine-swapped?

So, yesterday I fiddled around with setting up some Blueprint events. For the above mentioned issue I’ll give three rather annoying examples:

1. Super Hot Hatch, PI-Class: A

First of all, 7(!) of the 11 Drivatars drove a Focus RS, which freaked me out to begin with. And each one of those Focus RS had the V8 engine-swap. The PI-Class was set to A, so no need for this upgrade in the first place.

2. Custom race with 90s - mid 2000s BMW M cars, PI-Class: A

So, I set up an event to feature some iconic M cars. Race started and I had to wonder myself once more why EVERY car had an engine swap! Classic I6 BMW M sound? Nah! We’ll just swap an E92 V8 and an E60 V10 in every car, cause who needs authenticity to begin with…
Note again, that the PI-limit makes an engine-swap theoretically obsolete.

3. Super Saloons, PI-Class: S

My hopes all rest on that last example. Had basically the whole Super Saloon range selected. And yet again, at least half the cars had an engine swap (mostly the 5.2 V10). WTH, Forza?! Even with the PI-limit set to S, none of these cars needs an engine-swap to reach S 900!

So, is there some way to turn this behavior off? Kinda distracting and at the same time quite annoying when half a dozen cars sound identical when in reality you’re going for as much diversity as possible…
Also, why aren’t there multi-class races for the Blueprints? Having cars in different PI-classes would certainly fit Forza Horizon’s theme quite well and give the races some more diversity.

Never noticed. Though, really, without a visual indicator I wouldn’t. More control over these sorts of race settings could only be beneficial.

AI has always been a dirty old “cheater”. I can only imagine the numbers we would see in the telemetry screens, if Horizon series would have similar replay system to Motorsport.

Im pretty sure you can blame your friends to engine swapping those cars. Drivatar system picks up cars information from your friends garage and you should see car just like they use it, design, bodykit rims etc and im pretty sure it’s pick up engine info also.

Well, even if that was the case - which I personally label as rather unlikely - this system would be massively flawed. Most AI cars seem to be bone stock in terms of visuals, so I kinda doubt that the Drivatars pick up any car related information.
The Drivatar-system in general seems like it’s more mumbo jumbo than actually analyzing information about driving style or car preference, etc.

Btw, this is just an issue in Blueprint events but not for predefined races.
Imho, I think it’s a bug with the automatic Drivatar upgrades, but I’d really like a clarification on this.

You doubt that, i know for fact that it’s pick car visual, if i race with my second account my main account drivatar use audi tt with same design and same rims that i have on my car, and if i would have my second account on my friend list it would use ford focus with widebody kit and same rims that car have just like that car is on my second account. And that system dont pick any information how people drive, that’s is just in fm thing. But how ever that system dont work totally right now, as you see drivatars pick starter cars every time when possible, and drivatars also allways favorite those cars that you have get free. And it’s not allways pick info what bodyparts friend have that car.

"The design of the Drivitar system takes into account several factors… chief among them… your friend’s garages and the cars available in-game for that class.

If you don’t have any friends playing the game, or who don’t own cars within the race restrictions, they will be given default cars with in the middle of each respective class."

That is answer for support when i send ticket abaout ai drivers using only starter cars.

I don’t thonk that is the case at all.
I thought it was at one point, but soon discovered most of my froends don’t even own the Bone Shaker, so how could they mirror their garage?
