Wondering what I could look to adjust to get better front grip while exiting a corner on throttle? RWD car.
Bump, rebound, and diff.
Bump:
Try lowering rear bump by like .2 to start with
Rebound:
Try increasing rear rebound by like .1 to start with
rear diff:
try increasing the accel by like 2% to start with. (note: from like 42% to like 44%, not 0.84%)
Thank you for the advice. I’m a little confused on why I would increase the accel? The back end is really good. I’ve just noticed a bit of loss of grip on the front when accelerating.
Because building a car setup is more like a balancing act verses just adding something on. You increase the accel (locking rate) to induce oversteer (loss of traction on the rear) more easily as it balances out the understeer from the front end.
simplified, but it gets you going with the right idea.
Think of the car as a scale (lady justice scale).
You have understeer right now (front end push), so the left scale is lower then the right side (back). you have to add weight to the right to bring the scales back into balance.
Interesting. Thank you for the tip. I will give it a go and let you know how it worked.
Did seem to be a bit better. Thank you. Would you mind me adding you and picking your brain on a few other things?
go for it
GT the same as your name on here?
yuppers
I think i just added you.
Lower front spring rate
Increase rear spring rate
Increase rear toe in
Lower rear ride height
Increase caster angle
Increase negative camber value front and rear
Lower front bump
Increase rear bump
Lower rear rebound
Lower diff accel
Any or all of these may help. Only go a few ticks on any of these. 1% doesnt sound like a lot but it makes a big difference
