Best sounding cars in FH2?

Man you should try the e63 with downshifts

Yes. This man knows!

Too bad none of this applies to the 360. There virtually are NO engine sounds. I have everything else turned off and I am constantly in the red. After 20 minutes of being forced to watch the opening nonsense and 5 minutes of driving, I am ready to put the game up for sale. I had driving games 25 years ago running on a PC, that my current cell phone makes look like an abacus, which allowed you total control over tire, engine an opponent sounds. This piece of junk offers none of that. Just how loud I want the pinball machine noise. EPIC FAIL!

Gears

I agree that there are many great sounding vehicles in this game, but I’m very disappointed that upgrading to race exhaust does not make an audible difference like it did in the first Horizon and in FM5. I’ve experimented with about 25 random cars in different categories, even applying all race engine upgrades on certain ones and have noticed no difference in tone or volume level. It’s especially sad in the case of the VW Rabbit and BMW F10 M5 which sounded like absolute monsters with race exhaust in Forza 5 but now sound very tame in comparison.

Don’t get me wrong, certain exotics like the Lamborghinis and Ferrari 330 P4 sound glorious in “stock” form; but it seems that many of the lower-class vehicles did not get the sound treatment of last year’s game. So many tunnels in Horizon 2, so many wasted opportunities…

I’m extremely disappointed about that too. I keep putting the race exhaust on my cars as a habit from Horizon 1 and FM5. Hopefully they can release an update that changes this. The race exhaust used to make a huge difference.

My favorite so far is the 2015 Mustang. I love rowing through the gears in that! Looks like I should give the SLS and the Maserati a go…

Maserati GTS
430 Scuderia
Lexus LFA
Lamborghini Huracán
Plymouth Cuda

Those are the ones i drive, really love them engine and exhaust notes

They all sound good i just wished the turbo sounds were louder in the outside camera. They sound awesome in hood and interior view but im assuming that since the back of the car is facing you that the exaust drowns out the turbos.

This is so true; I really miss the chirp of the supra turbo on FH2 - on F4 it was insane and used to make me smile every time I came off the throttle.

Best sounding cars in my opinion are the Merc c63, e63 and Sls AMG.
Also the Audi R8 has a sick downshift burble that makes the car sound epic

It has to be said that Playground outdid themselves when it comes to the sounds in this game.

100% agree on the car sounds, they all sound amazing.

my 2 highlights so far are the Mercedes McLaren SLR, and the Audi RS4. Both have such amazing sounds I found myself just cruising through the tunnels back and forth. Also a big fan of the Viper with a Twin Turbo - that thing has a lovely idle sound to it, I park it up & listen as background noise with Hospital Records whilst posting here lol.

Would like to know which of the American V8s people say sound the best - as I can’t decide which one to go for.

I’m partial to the C7 Corvette’s LT1. It sounds so raw and menacing. You can also swap that motor into Evos, WRXs and Skylines.

2013 Viper. Sounds awesome.
Agree this game sounds amazing.

Guys, try the 2011 Ruf!! When you hold it at low to mid range revs, OMG!! its awesome

The Ferrari GTO has a monstrous roar when accelerating.

It’s so good to finally hear a quality sounding Forza title and the burbles and overruns are sweet. My fav is 430 so far and the r8 comes close…sure the list will grow quickly.

One thing though is on the R8 I prefer the Forza 5 sound on acceleration. Maybe just my memory, but it seems to have less of a howl now… A high Rev howling engine is the thing I go for.

I got around to trying more stuff lately. The Maserati Gran Turismo sounds amazing as does the SLS.

For the American muscle, I really like the ZL1 Camaro. From videos I’ve seen, it does sound like they recorded an actual ZL1 because it sounds spot-on to the real deal. I know they can’t record every single car in the game but it’s great to see more and more have individual recordings, rather than Forza 4/5’s “one V8 fits all” approach.

Try driving the Ramrunner at 50 mph in 4th gear. SO TRUCKY! Almost sounds like a diesel.

Best sounding for me so far is the VIPER GTS, sounds mean as !@#$

The Lancia S4 has a lovely rasp to it
