With these tunes car weight should not be a factor nor the distribution. These tunes are something you can throw a decent build on and then tune to the settings to try out, you can experiment with the weight and distribution if you would like.
Quick question…You said that weight and distribution isn’t a factor, do you mean never or just for your initial base tune? The reason I’m asking is while I’ve been playing this game since FM2, got online at the tail end of 3 (where I got my *** schooled btw) I really didn’t start taking my tuning serious until end of 4 into 5 but everything I’ve learned, its pretty much all about car balance. I want to add that I’m not questioning your tuning abilities or your methods, just curious to see if I’m wasting my time finding car balance i.e. setting spring rates based on weight and distribution for my base tune.
P.S. I hope that dude didn’t release the Kraken on you. I saw that thing on TV once. Scary…
You know what?? Never mind. Just got a message from these guys telling me not to post in their threads to peddle my “bs”. Fair does, here’s a tip though. Do not message me or post in my threads asking for help or peddling your BS.
Very nice ECT Chef thanks for posting this
I do something very similar but i use a % change to the default values instead of a set value like you do. Example in regards to springs if its an FR or AWD car and the default is front 600 and rear 500 i reduce the front by 5% the rear by 10%. So the new values will be front = 600 - (0.05 x 600) = 570 and the rear =500 - (0.10 x 500) = 450.
Reason for that is because you have high bump and high rebound so any type of elevation or rumble strip you go over the car will want to slide and hop. If its the 427 cobra, that car is a pain to tune anyways. Try using high bump and low rebound or vice versa and see how the results play out.
Is that stock weight? Might want to go a little stiffer on the springs and see if you can get some compound into the tires for better grip. Haven’t tried the 427 yet but will build one up tonight and give it a go to see what the results will be on that track. Give it a go on full and full alt let the car stretch it’s legs that car is meant for speed.
These base tunes are just that, it is something to get started with if you tune a car like this. These tunes are not meant for fast times, once you get a feel for the car then weight distribution a long with adjusting the tune will start to take shape. But for now the weight distribution is not a problem with these base tunes.
When I get home from work today I will put it up. Just something I threw together not meant for the LBs. I asked because it did seem a little slow just making sure you didn’t typo the wrong times.
