Tried 4 Different cars and 6 Different tunes. It doesnt help when the AI can completely turn of the existing game system and just rail up like a train to the front ignoring physics and environment.
I shared my tune for the 1969 VW Class 5/1600 Baja Bug, which I used for this event.
I also shared the tune for a 1969 Chevy Nova SS 396 if you are struggling with muscle cars in the dirt.
Neither car required wrecking the AI, just a little patience as you wait for the proper passing zone, these are tuned for tight corners so the sweeping turns make the best passing zones since you can keep grip and speed into the turn where the AI will naturally break, even if they don’t have too.
I try this event 3 times and 1 time there was one AI driver that was godlike other two times there wasnt any broken AI drivers so those was easy wins. So if you have problem to win because there is AI driver that get huge lead allready in start just quit championship and start again so long that there is not any of AI drivers that drives faster than it’s possible to drive B700 buggy.
Edit @decto i won first one with one victory and two 2nd place while top AI driver win those 2 races and was 3rd in race that i won.
well, have it on my yt where I won the summerbuggy-ball against unbeatable, it is hard but possible yt channel: “CJoke Oh”
btw. it doesn’t look that hard in the video, but it is!
… would be nice if the offroad-AI gets an update what makes them slightly slower…
Well you should drive against same AI driver than i did, for example you did 2,16 in last race i see AI hitting 2,07 on that race and that was on expert difficulty im decent driver but i didint have no change of winning.
The AI did 2.18 in my race, so AI is 11 sec faster in expert than in unbeatable thats kind of funny… I started my race with B699, I guess you had B700? but anyway it is only 1 Point… shouldn’t be that much seconds
I dont thing that 1 PI matters, i have done this event few times and every time i have see super broken AI it’s have allways used maverick. When AI use craft 10 and beetles i can win against unbeatable but those few times when i see AI using maverick first race and ambleside rush was impossible to get win even at expert.
Brilliant moderation, thread about a specific race series in this season now hidden in the general AI issues thread.
I did finally complete it with 1 win and 2 seconds but the seconds were hard fought.
I’ve noticed you don’t need to set the AI to unbeatable for the ‘Trial’ anymore , worked fine there other day when I was set to expert, we all still got the RS200. It must automatically default to unbeatable.
I suspect this race was set to default as unbeatable for the Warthog seasonal and someone forgot to switch it back. If I get time later I’ll see how aggressive the AI are on easy.
I was expecting the worst when I did this championship. I had to be perfect but managed to win. I used a stock Penhall Cholla buggy. Only things I had changed was a slightly lower ride height and I upped the tire pressure a bit. I don’t even know if that helped or not. I came first in the first race, 2nd place in the 2nd, and 1st place in the 3rd by a decent margin. Maybe I just got lucky. The problem I see it is that if you do lose touch with the leaders in the straights and you aren’t close enough for them to be affected by the walls then you’re screwed. If you draft on them and stay close enough you can usually fly past on the corners. Then it’s just about staying ahead of them by all means.
Without a doubt a lot harder then it should be with expert difficulty.
I purchased no mods for it as the PI was stock. I lowered the suspension a bit as I do on buggies long before using it for this race and boosted the tire pressure to 35 I think. Neither of those would really change the car much but I figured I’d point it out.
Well I tried easy and it was, I passed them early and that was that.
As I was on a spare account I tried expert again with a stock buggy and I managed second still. No doubt enough, but I do think some will struggle most with this one element and may miss out on the 100% because of it. All the other races and requirements were easier. For the playground games and trial you can eventually luck onto a winning team. For the adventure, its just a matter of grinding it out.
If you guys are having trouble with the Offroad Buggy seasonal then you should try my B600 Desert Dingo tune. It can beat unbeatable. I won the first two races with some effort and finished 4th on the 3rd without much effort at all. I only play in Unbeatable mode, all aids off, normal steering and manual with clutch. All of my tunes can win races against the “Unbeatable” AI.
Check out my other tunes for this seasonal. My Caddy ATS-V will win the Co-op trial without much effort. The '79 Camaro is good for the city race, Abarth 124 wins street races etc… I make tunes for every seasonal challenge.
Finally, I suggest you activate rewind if you’re really struggling. It is a good way to learn a track. Eventually you will not need it.
I’ve recently completed the Offroad Buggy championship from update 7 and couldn’t win the Windmill Rush race no matter what car or setup I chose - tried the Alumi Craft, Cholla, both VW bugs and the RZR. The Ai was passing me like nothing in straight line. Tried both Unbeatable and Experct difficulty and saw no difference.
Every race there were 1-2 Ai cars that were waaay ahead of others, like 5-10s.
I have the exact same problem. I tried all the cars tuned them to 700, never let go of the gas, don’t crash into anything, driving PERFECTLY almost but still it is LITERALLY PHYSICALLY impossible to beat this race! First 2 AI cars just leave us half a kilometer at the finish line. I lost probably about an hour trying to do this now. I also notice that most of the time those first 2 AI’s pass through obsticles like ghosts so they don’t get slowed down and AI in general goes uphill like it’s level road.
AI in this game is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AND GAMEBREAKING and I don’t understand how did this even pass through any testing! This is coming from someone who is well above average in racing games. When you consider how bad the PVP is this game basically works for free roaming and nothing else. I’m glad I borrowed it from a friend and didn’t buy this absolute joke.
I’ve done it in 3 accounts. All 3 used same car, same tune. Two accounts had no issues winning them all. One a count had 1 drivatar that always started first, finished 10 seconds ahead of me each time. What I did to correct it was race the first race. Restart race, change difficulty to unbeatable, accept, change back to expert accept. This fixed it for me.
Also works if you just need the top avatar to not finish first in past race to win on points.
OK, so the way I did it is I took the Beetle and tuned it just barely to B class and I guess AI then slowed down cause they’re cars are worse so I managed to win that way. It’s really nonsensical how AI works in this game.
