A quick rundown of the 7 cars build for S900 (better builds may come up, no claim on my side to have the best ones yet)
Also note that I’m quite out of touch with Horizon (times are not as accurate as they used to be):

2018 BMW #1 M Motorsport M8 GTE

As pointed out earlier it can fit AWD, Slicks+, weight reduction & the 5.2l V10.
Since the build fits so perfectly with an efficient engine it’s one of the best.
2:24s on Copper Canyon, highest front aero value, lacks a bit of mid-speed punch.

2015 Cadillac #3 Cadillac Racing ATS-V.R

Wasn’t happy with an AWD, Slicks+, stock engine build. The stock engine just doesn’t cut it.
Went with a Rallye tires, weight reduction, Racing V12 build instead. Best power/weight ratio of the set but too much drag.
High 2:25s on Copper Canyon. Don’t like the styling either. Not a car for me.

2020 Chevrolet #3 Corvette Racing C8.R

Yeah, whatever this crap box is. The only one without wheel spacers and completely out of the BOP. Awful power/weight ratio with AWD, Slicks+ and stock engine. Low drag but the non-existent acceleration kills it. Low 2:27s on Copper Canyon. Can’t fit its two meta swaps (Racing V12, Racing V8) with Rallies. Went with a Racing V12 S2 build that’s also not good. A write-off.

2020 Lexus #14 VASSER SULLIVAN RC F GT3

AWD, Slicks+, weight reduction, stock engine doesn’t fill S900 but it has the gloriously sounding LFA V10 swap that does. Given that this V10 isn’t as efficient as the 5.2l Huracan one it’s slower than the M8. But within the BOP with a low 2:25.

2019 Ferrari #62 Risi Competizione 488 GTE

AWD, Slicks+, stock engine isn’t doing it for me. That Ferrari V8 just isn’t good in Horizon. Went with Rallies, weight reduction, Racing V12. Similar to the Caddy with worse power/weight but less drag. Thus, faster than the Caddy with high 2:24s. Good one that rivals its 488 client corse brother.

2018 Porsche 911 GT3 R

Such a waste! Huge PI gain for AWD swapping (-10 PI) as always with the new 911s. But it can’t fill S900 as AWD, Slicks+, weigh reduction because the stock engine is not flexible enough with only restrictor plates upgrades.
You have to go on race tires to fit the first more open restrictor plate. If PG had given it the right amount of bonus power to make the Slicks+ build this one could’ve been a weapon.
Low 2:25s on Copper Canyon. I hope the 911 RSR got it better.

2018 Mercedes-AMG GT3

Kept this one as the last because I love the styling the most and had hopes.
Looked into it and it gained even more PI by AWD-swapping than the 911 (-11PI), got to a perfect 50/50 distribution with the strongest weight reduction of all and the 5.2l V10 made a perfect S900. It fit so perfectly it had to be good.
And yeah, it absolutely decimated every other car. Low 2:23s and with a more aggressive rear aero setting it’ll do 2:22s.
It’s the only one I shared. Has the balanced aero setting of the low 2:23s run. It’s ultra planted and such a pleasant ride. #1 by pace and feeling.

they’re different games

Following/unfollowing is still broken unfortunately the update hasn’t sorted that out, I’ve found a handful of tuners I’d like to follow in the last couple of weeks and my patience is starting to wear thin on having to get in a specific car that I know they have a tune for, then search for them either by tag or scroll through the popular tunes to find them and get to their hub from there.

Or memorise which leaderboard they have a high up time on, go into Rivals, scroll to the course, scroll to the class, open the leaderboard, find them, select them and finally get to their hub that way.

Given how long it has been broken, I am surprised that anyone downloads an update expecting it to be fixed…especially since Playground Games are steadfastly refusing to acknowledge there is an issue with it. I am fully expecting it to be a broken feature for the rest of the game’s life and wouldn’t be surprised if it was broken in the next game too.

My guess is that it is too complicated for them to understand so they are just ignoring it to focus on easy fixes

Assuming everyone is aware & seen this, but just in case, here it is again. I was surprised to learn yesterday when chatting with a fellow designer, that he was actually not aware of the issue, so good to keep passing it along for awareness & up-voting.

I think the price has now been updated. One of my Club members went to purchase via Steam and it was £7.99. He missed the WhatsApp message i sent out last night

Yep, it has. Confirmed last night when a friend of mine in Australia that was texting me about it. Good for those of us who managed to snag it, but certainly disappointing for those who didn’t & now must pay the full price if they want it.

Well, enjoy the update! I like race cars too if I can recall.

Honestly would not have gotten it at the price it was intended to be at.

I’m curious if this will be a lesson in product elasticity for PGG/Microsoft or not.

Was lucky and got the pack for 4,99 €. Seems quite good for that value. I’m not sure if the Caddi and the Lexus will get much use but the other five will presumably get driven from time to time.

Already finished two liveries for the #Mission8.

Did a 50.901 on Cathedral earlier with your tune for the Merc, a good time for anything outside the usual group of the Elemental/X-Bow GT4/Elise GT1/Viper AE on there.

On the flipside, now I can enjoy these cars in a game that’s moderately enjoyable instead of a game that is severely undercooked.

The saddest part about this becoming a multiplayer focused game is that it’s about the illusion of multiplayer more than the reality of multiplayer. Pretty much every useful multiplayer is either broken or has been removed from the franchise.

Convoys rarely function, especially when you get higher numbers. There is no effective looking for group. Freedom interactions are vapid and meaningless without persistent instances, and of course I can’t talk about this without mentioning the severe lack of anything for convoys to do together. The player base has never been more isolated from each other. It’s like we’re on display, trapped in a soundproof glass room in the middle of the street where all people can do a gawk.

Back when this was a single player focused franchise (which I wish it were again) with a multiplayer mode, the multiplayer was more functional. All of this has been sacrificed on the alter of open matchmaking and the illusion of multiplayer.

Looking forward to trying the Elantra N , and Time Attack Evo. Reminds me of the HKS Evo CT230R we had in FM4. Hopefully I’ll be able to find that design when we get it.

For me this is already the best Series already. And i don’t know if my love for racecars and motorsports biased takes will make my opinions not valid for majority of people but i will give my impressions anyways. Sorry :grimacing:

  • For now i will give my thoughts on the car pack that is what we have the access. The cars feels extremely balanced in between the “sub-classes” let’s put this way. The S2 910 GTE’s are super close and the S1 890 GT3’s ish (since the Caddy was made to compete inside the USA against GT3 cars but never homologated with FIA) also very close. I did lap times and is pretty cool.
  • When you upgrade them, if you use stock engine, all of them reach S2 950 ish and are all close together which is another good point though by the devs.
  • Then you can go for S2 998 and X class with bigger engines.
  • That’s my first… it’s not complain, but:
Ferrari: has the Racing V12 and LaFerrari engines to swap
Porsche: has all Porsches engine to swap
Lexus have the LFA and 2JZ engines
C8/Caddy both have the big V8
The BMW could have be given the F1 engine along side the 2JZ. I’m sure the 2JZ fits well inside today’s memes and standards but you know :grimacing:
The Merc could have be give the CLK engine along side the other 2 options too.
  • But that’s maybe me being too neat picky and because i’m new to the franchise i’m not completely full into swaps yet.
  • I think these cars fits perfectly and even help the non usage of aero on other street cars which is great… for me at least.

I still need 3 cars to complete my collection. Hopefully they appear again in the future as playlist rewards or forzathon shop. Thanks:

  • Rossion Q1
  • Continental '62
  • Lotus 2-Eleven
