Anyone into forced equalization racing?

By this I mean a race group where everyone must have a car that’s within .500 seconds of the worst driver in the race. Taking out the advantages of manual w/ clutch or manual over those that drive automatic. Be it you strip off parts to make it work or you build a car that is just that slow. So your skill and consistency are what win you the race and not the transmission you choose to use. Races will be 2-5 maybe 6 laps depending on track and AI will fill up the rest of the lobby unless enough people show. Anyone sand bagging will be warn. Lobbies will be by lobby points.

No… I wouldn’t be opposed to it much, apart from the fact you’d be giving a big advantage to people using aids. It would come down to consistancy and an auto tranny will never fail, manual can misshift and even stall the engine if they lock up the wheels braking for example.

Locking up the wheels? That’s a downside… I’d better race using ABS then.

Losing traction around corners? … no thanks, I’ll take TCS!

There’s a reason taking off aids make you faster, its a trade off because its harder and can cost you major time if you mess up. So in a race that’s all about consistency its a disadvantage.

Drag racing has bracket racing, faster car waits while the slower car takes off first. Closest to their target time and with a good reaction time wins.

In this the 9-10 second cars easily lose out to someone in a 17 second automatic VW beetle. All the beetle has to do is floor it, the 9 second cars are fighting for traction, steering and pedaling the gas.

Racing communist style, that’s kind of an oxymoron.

Khronoka I suggest you drive automatic with a r3-x car and tell me about shifting issues. I only use the break line and automatic no matter the class. NO abs, no stb and no tcs. You can look at my leaderboard if you like. I don’t run race tires below s unless car won’t level out in a. sport below b and most times street not below d. Not to say others that would show up would.

lX MURPH Xl it’s call sticking your ability where your mouth is. That’s all. If you’re the best than evening the odds shouldn’t hurt you winning. Or you aren’t as good as you say you are

I’ll race you communist style if you really want to. No need for the attempt at reverse psychology. Not gonna take part in an organized race though. FR me.

I don’t know what your point was OP. I was saying using aids makes you more consistent, but slower. I don’t mind what tires you use or how good or bad an automatic is in R3-X. I’m not flaming, I just really don’t know why any of that matters.

My point was that IF someone was feeling competitive, and IF they were clever, they could easily take away some of the things that made them faster (no ABS, no TCS, no stability, clutch, etc.) and trade them for things that would make them more consistent.

I don’t know if that’s what you intended… once you take away worrying about traction or when to shift those guys are going to become hard to beat as all their focus turns towards smooth driving.

lX MURPH Xl Insults are the norm on Forzamotorsports community page. Anyone that doesn’t run clutch or manual is not worthy to be raced with. I not upset, just tired of the childishness on this forum. If you don’t like the idea you don’t have to insult like a child.

Didn’t mean to come off as insulting. I edited my post. I think I had a few too many. It’s not a bad idea.

PS please look at a dictionary… Joking is funny to most every one while kidding and sarcasm are only funny to the teller and those of like minded people.

It is the intent that dictates a statement being defined as joking versus sarcasm. Therefore it was a joke.

Double post.

So, it SEEMS to me that clutch is the issue. I didn’t like using it at first but had to because there’s no other choice. You mentioned people look down on people that dont use it because they aren’t worth racing. THEY AREN’T! And you probably know that, its because of the PI system. You can upgrade the Drivetrain but it costs too much pi to make it worthwhile. I’m a tuner, I’ve tried.

Now… what you could do is force Drivetrain upgrades, that will lead to faster shifts for automatics and hardly any difference at all for clutch users. R class cars have good trannies that’s why they shift well as you alluded to. That won’t completely close the gap though.

As you mentioned in the OP, your method would work, just I think if people took it seriously they’d all start running auto/aids. Personally I dont think I would because I like a challenge, but yeah, that’s just me.

Khronokai, Your thinking inside the box. All you are truly having an issue with is the fact that this kind of racing won’t get you leaderboard times. Your thinking requires that you look down on those that have physical handy caps that don’t allow them to shift. Be it old age, carpal tunnel, lost of limbs or strokes they have had. If you didn’t have a computer or xbox between you and them than just maybe you would see them as human being just wanting to have fun. But you can’t because you are as cold as the xbox is turned off. no feelings and insulated from the world.

Rather than limiting the quicker drivers who don’t use assists why not try and find a group/team/club of people that play similar to you? I recall in forza 4 there were plenty of posts about people looking for auto drivers or other similar things. Find some friends setup a lobby force auto gearbox or something like that. More often than not the people playing with no assists have worked their way there and thats why they are quick. They are often also more consistent drivers because they have put in the time to learn the track and do what it takes to getting faster, so your theory of limiting them is honestly less likely to affect them as it is going to affect someone with lesser skills.

Mr DragonHawk, I’m pretty sure that Khronokai is one of the only tuners that doesn’t really hotlap. So in effect what you are saying is that because the game favors manual or manual with clutch, Khronokai has no feelings and doesn’t see people with handicaps and stroke victims as human beings. That is ridiculous Sir.

TorriderGull8 I been playing since Forza 2 as my tier implies I have put in the time. I just don’t have the ability to run manual without getting numb hands. Why I posted 2-6 lap races instead of 10-20 laps. The facts are that if Turn ten made automatics realistic it wouldn’t be such a handy cap. But it’s not realistic at all!!! Automatics in real life don’t shift like this at all. In real life I would drive manual with clutch. I don’t care to race with people that can’t drive and make wreck fests out of most races. It truly shows how immature and childish most people in Forza community are. They say go run with those of like drivetrain but I prefer guys that can keep up. I’m generally across the board in the top 1% that. And driving with those that chose to have a garage that equates to more than two or three leaderboard cars per class I’m not that far off. But at the end of the race they are usually are 1000 or more feet ahead because of shifting alone. consistency isn’t my problem.

lX MURPH Xl Yours and their comments prove my points. You insult (just joking of course) first and than try to act like a nice guy. I came looking for people that might be more open to the idea but with all the views and no replies state how open this community is to anything but hotlappin in leaderboard cars. And the three that said anything were insulting or playing the sympathetic bs

Exactly what was it that was so insulting to you and why?

Dragonhawk, why didn’t you just ask people to race with you using automatic transmission only and everyone using the exact same car. A stock car would be best, i think. Then nobody has the advantage of faster transmission or a faster car/tuning setup. Everyone is equal. Instead you got your back up over absolutely nothing. It was laughable, to be honest.
