No, the game looks fine to me
I agree itās overdone, especially in cockpit view
Iām used to it. But donāt get me started on the obsession with helichoppersā¦
Looks great to me. I like the visual effects.
How many of you keep the inside of your windscreen spotless enough to where it could actually show a reflection?
My mom has a Cadillac CTS-V and that thing is spotless inside, I can clearly see my hands, the dash, and steering wheel reflecting in the windscreen when conditions are right. (I love driving my moms car.)
Even in polarized Ray Bans, driving directly into the sun will still produce a lot of glare.
Learn the braking zones using landmarks on the track and you wonāt have any problems.
The key here is when the conditions are right and also, you have to be actually looking for them and focused on the window. I agree, certain reflections are there, however, our eyes look past them and focus on the road, thereby making them a non-issue when driving a car, not something that completely blocks your vision out the window like some of the ones in game are.
Also, it depends on the car. My Audi does not show my hands in the window when sitting in a normal position. I have to bend forward and look for them and then they show at the very top of the window, not in line with the road out front. In the game, they always are directly in the line of view, which I do not think is accurate as that would mean that hands and wheel would be in the same position in relation to the window on every carā¦not accurate.
Again, just a bit too far imo and too often. I like the game and idea, just too much and hopefully they can read these comments and tone it down a bit in the future.
The glare is over done, which is a shame because it spoils some tracks. The reflections are great though!
Weāve got one stretch of road more than a mile long which is directly into the sun two periods of the year, Spring and Fall, and using Polarized sun glass, flipping down the sunscreen doesnāt help.
But what really ticks me off is in Horizon during night scenes where canāt use my 200,000-candlepower Halogen driving lights. I imagine Playground Games disabled that because people playing with controllers on battery would wear them down too quickly. LOL!
I donāt think they went realistic enough. Where are the fatal more realistic crashes? Where is the tire wear? Where is the gas running out? When is the AI going to not follow a certain path and slam into anyone in their way? When are the gauges in the car actually going to work right for every car, not just the ones they care about? Where are the longer races, 2-4 laps per race, please I can go play any racing game to get that, ones that look better and have day/night and weather. Forza Motorsports is a SIM, make it that way.
I have owned every version of Forza since the original Xbox, I even bought Forza Horizon. 5 in my opinion is the worst, mainly cause AI is still bad, less cars, less tracks, no online store for users (like in previous versions). I am now in the Iāll wait a few months or year before I buy any new Forza game, instead of the I want it right away camp.
Forza Motorsports needs to be more realistic and more of a SIM like it is supposed to be, Forza Horizon and all the other racing games can do all that other stuff.
Where are the fatal more realistic crashes? Ask the vehicle manufacturers what they think about that. You should have, by now, seen a trend across all driving games which use real world vehicle brands and models.
Where is the tire wear? It exists. Do you have simulation damage on?
Where is the gas running out? It exists, too. As a matter of fact, I have a badge specifically for running the tank dry. Again, this falls under the simulated damage option.
When is the AI going to not follow a certain path? They donāt. They donāt at all.
Where are the longer races? In free play mode where can adjust the race parameters as desired and be rewarded with credits and XP.
Anything else you need to be made aware of for the game that you own?
I, for one, expect this lens flare āissueā to be somewhat resolved when day/night transitions eventually make their way to Forza and the time of day can be adjusted for those of you who despise the solar effects.
My reaction when I first saw the glare on the windshield was āoh neatā. Then when I started to drive that car I could not stop looking at it wondering who spilled Armor All on the dash.
I get blinded almost the exact same way every morning with my 5:45 commute. Drive directly towards the rising sun.
Personally I really like what Turn 10 has done. Visually it catches people watching you play off guard and it really adds another layer of difficulty to the game. I want my Forza to feel āaliveā like a real thing, not just some boring static environment.
I think that the lighting is normal and not over done, usually the countries or states located in the North, have different lighting than the ones located in the south, I did have rides in my native country Morocco at North Africa, the driver and front seat passenger get blinded by the light in morning and midday, that can lead to accident , I like the lighting effects so much in FM5 , much better and realistic than FM4, no complaints from me, the only thing I noticed is that some of these lighting effects are perceived as a camera lenses, not as the human eye can see naturally.
ooh added to forza 6 sun strips, its a lil bit bright though sometimes you cant see anything at all just maybe an inch of tarmac if your lucky, bit that does make it challenging when in career mode.
If you install a roll cage on a lot of the cars it sort of acts like a sun visor in the cockpit modeā¦
Hell,at my age iām glad i can still see the glare!
I feel you on the Audi, I think the reservoirs are a little much, but for sun glare, I race in Arizona and I have ran into that problem quite a few times where it is too much, I avoid it by using sunglasses under the helmet and running a window banner to give more clearance to block out the sun, an option I wish we could do for Forza with decals as window banners are used around many racing series.
