LIGHTING EFFECTS!!

Love the game. Great graphics great gameplay. But one major issue that hinders that wow factor is the light effects. On tracks with rain or dusk racing conditions your headlights are on but you cant see them glare on the track. There is zero lighting with those race conditions. Most of the time you have to have the suggested line assist on just to see where you need to go. Project cars kills Forza in that department. Even in broad day light on Project Cars you can see the glare of the lights off the back of cars. I really hope Turn 10 addresses this issue. It hold back a lot of the playability we all expect from Turn 10. Who can race when you cant see? Hope someone from Turn 10 reads my amature post I wrote during down time at work to hopefully fix any issue with a game I have loved since the first edition.

There’s nothing wrong with the lighting. Is the light always perfect in real life? No it’s not. The lighting adds to the game n is far better than the usual basic perfect light. It mimics real lighting so much better than just having a sunny day and I have no issues with it.
The only lighting issue is head lights at night not being bright enough

The headlights work fine for me.
I do have HDR on a decent TV and it looks amazing and has realistic lighting, I have never played any race where I thought it was too dark.
The game looks how I would expect it to look. Driving on Le Mans in the pitch black looks exactly like driving down a country road in pitch black in real life.
The headlights give a realistic beam on the road ahead.

The thing about night races or rain races is they are supposed to give you reduced visibility that is why they are difficult to race in real life.

The only issue is if you take a car that doesn’t have headlights like an F1 car but that is realistic, you couldn’t drive that at night in real life either.
So I wouldn’t expect them to change anything about that.

Well for those of us without a XBone X and a HDR tv we have to deal with pitch black tunnels and tracks where in certain lighting conditions are unable to be distinguished from the off road areas and require full racing line to be used.
This is no joke and should’ve been tested by Turn 10 before going gold. How there can be no working headlights is beyond belief.

I’m on the old XB1 and I can’t say I’ve had any issues. I play on an older TV as well. Perhaps you should try tweaking the TV settings if it’s too dark although I’ve not had to change anything for this game.

Most likely, however, they shouldnt have to. T10 should include a gamma slider like 99% of other titles. Not be the reverse and tell people to adjust their tv.

could be my TV as well but some night tracks are exceptionally dark and difficult to navigate even with the braking line. Hopefully once I upgrade to 4k and have more options I can make positive adjustments.

for me they give almost no light, they work much better in FH3

Yes, its an odd omission alomg with screen positioning. Makes no sense not to have basic setup adjustments in game.

I have an original Xbox One and an older Sony LCD TV, and I’ve noticed some areas are dark enough to make it more difficult. The headlights seem to work fine (unless I damage them), but the tunnel on Rio can be a real bear at times. The rain at Brands Hatch can be difficult too. I used the instructions for setting up my TV for the game, and that seemed to resolve some of the. Issue. The one area where I sometimes have trouble with lighting is in the paint shop. I can’t m understand why the paint shop wouldn’t have adequate light, randomly. Then I noticed that the paint shop was considerably darker after running a race at night. So I took the car into Free Play and ran a race at Laguna Seca. Then I went back into pain and it was nice and bright. Coincidence? I don’t know. But I have been going to Laguna Seca to race before I go to paint shop, and so far I’ve gotten lucky.

There is a gamma and brightness slider in the game it;s under Video in the options menu.

Headlights working in the rain is an Xbox One X and PC only feature.

The first dynamic rain race I did in FM7 gave me a “wow” gaming moment for the first time in a long time. I am playing on the One X and have a 4k/HDR equipped TV though.
