About those windshield reflections

The windshield reflections are great, but they’re a huge distraction in some cars, to the point where it becomes really hard to see. I love driving in cockpit view, but I find myself switching out often because of this.

Could we maybe get a transparency slider to lower its visibility, or even just a setting to turn it off?

Love the realism, but some of these cars go beyond reality and it just becomes screen clutter.

I like when it’s night, and there’s no light, and the cabin in completely dark, and you get really bright reflections on the windshield/windows.
The GT40 MKI is ridiculous for this. I mean, I guess I’m holding up a flashlight, shining a light on the steering column to get that reflection. So I guess my character is just an absolute moron.

I’ve driven plenty of cars in my 42 years on this earth and not one has had reflections like these do in this game.

I wish you could turn off the Windshield reflection in cockpit mode in Forza Horizon 5 like you could in Forza Horizon 3 and 4. The reflection of your hands dash and steering wheel are so not realistic and really degrades the image quality through the windshield. I know you can turn off Car reflection to fix it but the car hood reflection looks terrible if set it to low or very low. This is how I have to play it though, At least I can see where I am going. Forza Horizon 3 and 4 are superior games since they do not have this issue. Anyone know a work around to fix this?

Totally agree!!! I have been driving since the 80’s and never have I seen reflections on the windshield of my hands and the steering wheel like this.

WHAT?! You’ve never actively admired yourself in the windshield while driving? lol - It’s pretty absurd.

If the inside of windshields were this reflective, all cars would have dash mounted HUDs.

There are so many points where this game falls short. This being one. Just shows the developers lack of care about the details of game.

I’ve found that on PC, you can set Reflection Quality to Very Low or Low and it will eliminate this issue. Makes using FPV a much! better experience.

Yea this is the setting I use but the down side is I like to drive cars you can see the hood and the reflection quality on the hood looks terrible with these settings.

One thing to keep in mind when setting reflections to very low, as I usually do for online races along with particles effects, it changes how car thumbnail images are generated when changing car parts in the garage, loading paint jobs, etc. Anyone who does go with low reflections to combat the obstructed view might want to consider switching back before tinkering with cars or else you’ll end up with some odd, ugly looking cars with a weird shine on the thumbnails in your garage lineup. shows up to others too, like in the auction house.
