Rants and thanks to T10

Dear T10 Studios, Thank you for providing us with another Forza Motorsport game.

NowI know you are busy trying to optimize the game, and sometimes you have to compromize on different things to get the game play like you want to.
I have to thank you for getting notably better physics model than past 2 games, The cars are more pleasing to drive.
How ever there are couple things that really bug me, Specially now when it seems that we have more grip in general

1.Risk of rolling over in dry tracks is virtually unexisting. Take any normal car, Sedan wagon, Hatchback, Suv, or Van, which you have in game, Put some high performace tires on it, and drive it around 60-80mph and turn hard to hit a bigger kerb, bump, or whatnot, and it will roll over.
How ever in game we have this invisible force that prevents the car from rolling. and this is only when the track it dry, Do same in the rain and you actually might roll over, and this is rather weird. As realiticly in rain you would most likely lose grip before you roll.
Now I know most modern cars have some form of safety mechanisms in their TCS, ABS and stability systems, that will try to prevent it but they dont have invisible training wheels on them.
I can understand that you have to compromize some realism to get so many and so much differing cars specially when yuo can modify the cars as much as you can in Forza, But this is slightly annoying. To be honest I would like to say, that this could almost be used as an exploit by some of the better drivers. But that is unlikely.

  1. The paint booth. As we all know we have many painters in game, and some painters buy the game just to paint. I myself arent really a painter, but I know many painters, and they all have been rather annoyed by the current paitbooth. The issue is that the “room” is so dark, that you cant really see what you are doing. and especially shadowing for Fantasy painters is very difficult. I have been watching a fantasy painter streaming and he hat to back out of the paint booth and go to test drive just to see what he actually did, and this kept happening on every 20-40 layers he put on the car. and every now and then he removed everything he did since last check. This never happened in his FM6 FH3 or FM5 paint streams.
He said that basicly he feels like he’s in dark room, wearing sunglasses when he is painting, and he most likely ends up painting in FM6 and then importing to FM7 to share, unless he’s asked to paint a car that isnt in FM6.

  2. In upgrade shop os in tune section we cannot test drive the cars, And in free play we cannot upgrade or tune the cars. So when we are building cars outside of the single player, and outside of division restrictions very annoying menu jumping. This is again one of the key features of the game, and it’s been made a lot harder for us who play the game.

Then I have to say that I love how I can detune some cars in this game by installing restrictor plates. This has been a thing that we have been waiting since “Turbo Glitch” in FM4 and at least I, and probably more tuners are very thankful for it. it gives us so much more options to optimize our cars. Not just in homoligation sence, but also when organizing leagues, withiin the restictions chosen by the host of the league. And also if class hoppers come back. Actually I (we?) wish that this option would be in more cars.

Now I could start ranting about couple other things, but first l want to see more of the game. Maybe I find more things to rant, and thank more.

Anyhow, Thank you for the game. It looks pretty good so far.

In Free Play, you setup whatever track you want then hit go to race. When you’re on the pit-lane pre-race screen, go over to the setup tab, after a few seconds a “Test Drive” button should appear. In Test Drive you have free reign of the track by yourself, you can tune from the pause menu, and apply upgrades by ending that test drive and going back to the pit-lane pre-race menu.
