Anybody else think we should get the tune of first place in rivals? Or be able to drive that

Anybody else think we should get the tune of first place in rivals? Or be able to drive that car + tune on that specified track?

Sometimes you just want to know if it’s your car or just your skills that is holding you back from that number one spot. If not make the tune downloadable, at least let us try that car on the track it was made number one on.

Simple answer: no.

Long answer: The driver who sets a number 1 has earned the right to their spot and doesn’t need to share/open source their tune and build to prove something to everyone else. Just keep grinding and learning and you’ll be up there someday too

I agree, they have earned their spot.

And I’m not saying their tune would be open source. When you download someones tune, you can’t see anything about that tune; you just drive that car as is. So I’m not saying they need to prove something to everyone else either; they already proved how good they are by being one. It’s not like I’m saying to have their tune available to everyone to race online in multiplayer either. That wouldn’t be fair to everyone else whose trying to learn to tune themselves

Just simply saying that for that specific track, in that rivals class, at that time; i’d like to use their car and compare our times. It doesn’t even have to make it official on leader board.

It’s a curiosity of skill level between two racers

Agreed. I’ll never be close to the number 1 spot in any table, but that’s because these guys have taken the time and effort to get their cars tuned to perfection.

No. I think you should do the work yourself in finding the fastest build/tune.

No. Setting up the car is a skill that can be learned, and almost as important as driving. Also, a setup that suits one driver won’t necessarily be ideal for another.

There are many leaderboards where the #1 time has the used tune shared. Use these leaderboards to determine whether its your skill holding you back.

try doing spec rivals, you know the one where everyone has the same car and tune so I can tell if its your driving skills and not your finding good tune skills.

Those are good suggestions. I’ll give those a shot, thanks guys.

That’s actually exactly what I’m saying. I just want to try it. Let me quote my second post just to clarify what I’m saying again so people don’t think I’m saying their entitled to give up their tunes (which you can’t even see even if you download somebody’s shared tune.)

As someone that does not tune and isn’t interested in that aspect of the game I have to say yes all tunes should be visible. But if I’m honest I’d rather there wasn’t any tunes and it was just stock across the board. Forza seems to have 2 many niche aspects making it a game that you can succeed at if you know the right people or have the right tunes. I’d like to see a game where all is equal on the leaderboards where no 1 has an advantage. Pure driving skill should be the focus imo

But, based on your premise, ALL real races should end up in 32-way ties? There are engine shops, tuning shops, pit crews, adjustments of tire pressures, camber, etc., in every race, and even if you made all those universal, you still have the driver’s human factor.

If you’re racing a Rival, note the gamertag and later look up the Tunes to see if they’ve got one. Then try it. Pure driving skill is exactly why most of us cannot take the #1 Rival’s tune and at least tie it. We simply aren’t as skilled as some other folks.

This goes back a few versions of Forza Motorsport, but one of the highly skilled Turn 10 employees (VoodooUomo) I remember as offering his Tune to everyone, then it was up to us to see if we could match his time on Maple Valley. Some were close, but most of us were seconds off his time. He’s just that skilled.

You do realize that race cars in real life aren’t “stock” right? Each one is tuned and calibrated by it’s team, for each track that it races on, so no car is ever really the same as another, even if they’re the same model.

Tuning is a part of racing, complaining that it makes things unfair is the same as complaining about some kid doing better at a history test than you because he studied more. You aren’t entitled to be as fast as everyone else, you have to play the game and learn and earn that top spot. Please go away with that lazy entitled attitude.

Back in Forza 4 and 5 I had no idea how to tune and wasn’t interested in it because I thought it was too confusing. I never won a race against top tear players or even placed high, and when Forza 6 launched I decided to teach myself and figure it out. Now I’m getting top 100 and top 50 times with my own tunes. Call me Drake, but that’s how it’s supposed to happen.

You do realise this is a game and far from real life. For instance we don’t have a team to tune a car for us and listen to our feedback.

I’m not complaining about tunes I do very well in the tunes I have and forza 6 has addressed many of the issues that made forza 4 even more of a niche game to do well in. No 1 has an entitled view or opioion in this thread. I think the op was simply wanting to try the tune that is number 1. Personally I agree and if it was my tune I’d want to see it at the top in either my hands or anyone’s else’s.

I just feel things would be far more balanced if all tunes were online or the tuning part of the game was removed. I know that’s contriversial but it’s just my opinion so no hating, I’m not demanding that anything changes. I’m perfectly happy how things are as this problem dosnt really effect me but I can see it effects others and I like fair racing at the end of the day

WHY?.. Don’t worry it’s you. Practice, practice, practice, then… Focus, focus, focus, then… Practice and Focus some more. Some are shared. I know the one at Rivals Bath is shared, I can’t drive it worth a darn. So, most of the times you will not be able to drive their tune anyway.

I love how everyone is assuming I don’t play very much or that I’m slow.

Hey I am not saying you are slow or don’t drive much. Look at me. I have been playing since Forza. Do you see me on the top LB. No you don’t. What I am saying is it takes Focus and Practice… But more Focus than anything. I play alot, I have an excuse and I accept it…I am old.

Formula 1, you should watch it. You’ll be in for a shock. Forza is not just about driving, it’s also about tuning. Tuning is a key element in the game. Learn to tune, it’s a skill you need just like driving.

Stop comparing forza to a team of engineers and a couple of drivers. If you want to compare it to anything real world then compare it to track days or at best amature racing. Forza players just don’t get the support a real racing driver would get. Instead we are expected to do both jobs and tbh I’d rather be racing. Don’t get me wrong without the tuning community there wouldnt be a game as we know it and I very much appricate all those that share there tunes. But I still think all tunes should show on the leaderboards so its fair for everyone thus completely eliminating any argument that it’s just the tune u and I both know it’s not the tune but everyone should be able to know that.

That’s the thing, most of the time it IS the tune. Why do you think the top 15 on EVERY track in EVERY class use about 3 tunes between each other? Go on any leaderboard and you’ll see the majority of the top 50 using a LSR or JSR tune.

Driving the car is pretty simple, tuning it to give it that little edge over the rest is what’s hard. Good tunes are an achievement in of themselves, and it should be up to the creator to decide whether or not it is shared. Keeping the tune for himself is not unfair in any way, because he/she put the time and effort in to make it so if he/she wants it for him/her self then that’s just fine.

Not entirely true. You have to be able to drive the car. Remember the Triton challenge? Everyone drove the same car and had the same tune. I remember the top runners.
