[ANSWERED] [PC] Can't connect to Horizon Life (DNS error)

This fixed my issue  Thanks !

I cant connect to Horizon Life either.

But I dont get any error message at all, it just says “looking for session” and nothing happens. Also nobody can join my session succesfuly and I cant join others.

I see them on the “Column Manager”, but I always have the status “not in the group leaders session” …

The above steps didnt help for me either

Exact same here

Couls it be possible that we have to wait till October 2nd to play online coz most of the streamers Im wathing are still playing the single player mode

Unlikely, it is working perfectly fine for my friend and it does work for me about once a day. The only thing we found is that my Windows region is set to United Kingdom and he is on Hungary (we both live in hungary). If he changes region (the only way to change the language of forza, what the actual [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]) he can’t get it to work either, only if he sets it back to Region: Hungary. It does not seem to help me, does not matter if I change the language or the region it won’t work. And even if it would work when the region is correctly set up I simply won’t play because this language and the translation is a joke (for example #forzathon translation forgets to mention that you need a RETRO hot hatch, it simply says a sport hot hatch in hungarian…)

Same issue for me, can’t go online!!!

same problem here

Still not working on my side. Funny thing was I followed another user’s solution of changing my DNS server address to the Google defaults (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and it worked for a while before it went back to its usual “Failed to resolve server address”.

I have the same problem. I use the Quad9 DNS server on my Xbox One X but it doesn’t help.

same issue xbox needs to fix there [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D], i basically paid for half a game!!

Same here on Xbox One X

Anyone here using an AVM FritzBox! as a router?

Because I am, and the whole Teredo-Protocol is blocked by those Routers by default. You first have to disable the Teredo-Filter and then you are good to go.

It’s working fine now on my PC.
I just dont have NAT Type “OPEN”, I have “MEDIUM” but I can join others with no problem and also can play Forzathon now.

Also, Microsoft built in a “Fix it” button for that whole Teredo crap stuff … It’s on “System Settings”, “Gaming”, “Xbox Network”. There you can also perform the same check as in the Xbox app, and you can try to use the “fix it” button, if some settings are messed up.

But the most important thing for me was: Router blocking Teredo by default. No wonder it wasnt working.

that with some other things from this thread helpt me i think my FritzBox was the problem there is a point for the Teredo stuff i deactivate it restart the fritzbox and pc an now it work for me thank you

This fixed it for me! In my case, I didn’t see Teredo in the Device Manager, I didn’t see Teredo in the list of legacy hardware, and no matter what troubleshooting I attempted nothing worked and in cmd it always told me “primary server unreachable over UDP”, but disabling the Teredo-Filter inside my Fritz.Box router solved the issue!
You might have to change some Teredo settings just to make it start attempting to connect to a server again.
Here’s my Teredo settings inside cmd:

If you have trouble changing any of these settings or finding commands for these settings, just click “Start”, search for “Run” (by just typing it), type “gpedit.msc” and press Ok, go to Administrative Templates → Network → TCPIP Settings → IPv6 Transition Technologies, and just play with the “Set Teredo” settings there.

Same PC Germany !

I fixed it.

Go to the Xbox App. Then go to settings. Then go to network settings. Check your connection. If it says blocked, then do this

  1. Click Start , type services.msc in Start search box and hit Enter.
  2. Right-click the Peer Networking Grouping service and select Properties .
  3. Check if the service is started; if not, right-click and select Start .
  4. You may also set the Startup type to Automatic under Properties .
  5. Click OK .
and restart the computer. if that dosent work. do this to.
. Run command Prompt as administrator
  6. Type “netsh” and press enter
  7. Type “int teredo” and press enter
  8. Type “set state disabled” and press enter
  9. Type “int ipv6” and press enter
  10. Type “set teredo client” and press enter

No fix.

Xbox live gave me problems from the beginning.
Forward these ports that has always helped me with NAT and Teredo problems.
Check whether you have a Teredo filter on your router and whether it is switched off. My FRITZ!Box has one. (7360 located - Internet - Filters - Lists)
