Hi guys,
Do you face any frame drop while free roaming on Xbox One X? I do on PC, the demo ran as smooth as silk but the full game is stuttery for me
Yup. Once in a while I’ll get a half second freeze in free roam. Don’t think I’ve ever experienced it in a race but sometimes, rarely, it will get bad and I just quit the game out of frustration.
Xbox One X haven’t noticed any.
As for PC what are your specs? What settings are you running at? What else is running? Have you tried turning it off and on again?
This is my rig.
Case: BitFenix Neos
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (stock cooler)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR4 3000 mhz (dual channel)
GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 416.64)
MoBo: Asus Prime B350-Plus (BIOS version 4023)
HD: Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB 7200RPM
PSU: EVGA 450W B3
SO: Windows 10 Pro
Monitor: Samsung S22C300H (FullHD - 60 Hz)
I use auto-detected high settings, nothing else is running. I have Vsync on in Nvidia control panel and Vsync off in game.
If you’re running from a hard drive you may experience loading issues which manifest as pauses in game.
Your system is a budget rig from what i see so you may experience issues from time to time.
It’s nothing to worry about, just bear in mind that this will happen. Have you tried turning V-sync on in game?
Yes, I’ve tried enabling Vsync in game to no avail. I played the demo with a GTX 1050Ti at Low/Medium settings and I had no stutter, but with the full game I experienced frame drops. That’s why I changed GPU, but unfortunately the stutters are still there.
This is ridiculous. No other games besides Microsoft titles have these issues. You shouldn’t have to have the planets aligned in a certain way for a game to run properly. Fragmentation is definitely not an excuse since Windows takes care of that automatically. If it isn’t then once again we’re back to the problem being with Microsoft. I never understand why people always make excuses for them. No wonder they never bother to make an effort to fix anything.
I’m getting lots of snags in frame rate on Xbox One S. It’s always done it occasionally, but since recently it’s doing it A LOT!
Are you running it from the internal drive? That can cause issues like this. It may be fragmented all over the hard drive depending on how much you download and install then uninstall games.
Performance has decreased with each patch on PC (not sure about xbox). It has nothing to do with settings or hardware. Those have never changed and it ran perfect when it first came out. It’s an issue on their end. Either with the game updates or windows updates. It’s pretty common for Microsoft titles. They can’t program. Other games run perfectly (unless messed up by a Windows update. Again, Microsoft is at fault).
Hi there,
Just out of curiosity, yesterday I tried to run it at lowest graphic settings @ 720P and it still had FPS drops occasionally. They are not game-breaking, but are very annoying for sure.
I also tried to disable Vsync in the Nvidia control panel and enable it in game with no difference.
I think it’s the game, pity that the demo ran flawlessly.
Wasn’t it discussed when the game came out that the online code was causing the stutters? It disappeared if you went offline. I play most on PC but noticed it on both the PC and the XboxoneX, and going offline does stop it. I just learned to ignore it as it has never happened to me in a race, just when cruising around.
Glad I’m not the only one who’s experiencing this, I was planning to buy a Xbox one X just for this game.
Windows does not take care of fragmentation automatically per se. It defragments files, not your whole disk.
Other titles do have issues with stuttering etc, but it’s different people with different configurations. What works perfectly for one game will not work perfectly for another.
Yeah it was discussed. I think it depends on your connection though. I never have any problems. I’d actually forgotten about it!
I am on 100 meg fibre, 100/100 and I get it occasionally.
I’m on 150/15 fibre so it would seem down is more important than up?
I can’t find this issue among the known ones, do you know if developers are working on it?
Hello,
I submitted a ticket to Support and they suggested re-installing the game. Unfortunately it didn’t fix the issue.
I also tried to temporarily disable Virus & threat protection in Windows Defender, to no avail unluckily.
Could it be a driver-related issue?
It’s possible. You can check if you have any errors in System and Maintenance (Win+s > System and Maintenance > View archived messages), in the Event Viewer (Win+s > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application), you can check the HDD’s health and scan it for errors with HDTune. And if everything seems fine, then you can try to install the game to different partition. Sometimes this works.
