So my one true annoyance in this game (currently) is drifting. Never really been a fan of it against pretty much all titles - not just Forza.
Anyone else have this issue, or other areas that annoy them?

Why are you complaining on the forza forums if you don’t like drifting in any title lol.
If you don’t like drifting in Forza titles, well then don’t. Sorry to say but T10/Playground aren’t going to change the physics engine just because a few people don’t like how drifting feels.
I haven’t had a problem with it since I started messing around with it in FM3 or 4, neither do a lot of people I play on here with. Not everyone is the same though and there will always be people who don’t like or don’t feel comfortable with it.
I’m not a fan of drifting, but it wouldn’t bother me if there weren’t areas of progress attached to it. I think I’ll be hard pressed to three star any, much less all, of the Drift Zones.
And speaking of stars, the Horizon Story events annoy me. Not only because they present potentially impassable walls to progress, but because if I trouble myself to go back and give them another go I have to sit through unskippable cutscenes. If you could grind up the XP by just redoing the events, I’d be a little less annoyed at them. But you only get XP for newly earned stars.
What it meant to sound like is by all means have drifting, but don’t attempt to penalize(?) by making it 100% needed for completion. Surely some of you in any genre or style of games be it fps rpg mmorpg etc have something nit-picky that you think why do they add it in xD
I just plain suck at drifting and don’t enjoy it. I do wish it was more skippable, sometimes though it is part of progress in the game. I especially dislike it being part of Forzathons at times, but I do the best I can with it and let everyone else get the points for that part of it.
I would rather it wasn’t in the game, but it doesn’t really hamper my enjoyment too much.
That about sums it up for me too
I’m not all that great at drifting and try to avoid it due to when I first played Gran Turismo and having to go thru all those driving tests to advance in the game and the game beat it into your head that drifting was bad in racing. Tho when it comes to dirt and cross country I don’t mind a good drift in some of the turns but some people go way overboard on the drifts which for the most part is fine with me as I’ll take the inside and pass them easily.
yep drifting sucks its not a few ppl
dislike it but a lot just not as vocal as the children that think its cool
I don’t dislike or like drifting. Sometimes with the good car it is fun but the game hardly forces you to do some, just push you giving it a try a few times. It is aspect of the game for which one can choose. Imagine gamers who dislike cross countries facing online multi … honestly it is kind of 100 times easier not to drift in H4 than not doing CC.
It took me up until Motorsport 5 to really learn drifting, and I have been playing since the first Motorsport title. After you learn how to drift it can be really fun. It’s even easier in the Horizon titles, even if you are not a fan just practice at it so you can do it in the forzathons. And all that practice will net you some perk points, kind of a win/win if you ask me.
If drifting was completely removed, it wouldn’t upset me in the slightest. I can’t think of anything I care about less than drifting. I’m okay with it being there for the kids that are into that, but it’s worthless to me and you couldn’t pay me to even pretend I find it remotely interesting.
However, I do hate having drifting activities, though I just simply ignore them. What I hate is when they’re required. The only big offender I can think of was DiRT 3. In DiRT 3 I generally avoided the stupid Gymkhana nonsense as much as the game allowed me to skip it, but as I recall I had no choice but do do a bit early on. I loved the DiRT games but hated DiRT 3’s increased focus on silly nonsense. I voiced my feelings to Codemasters and declared that if they continued working that junk into the core DiRT games I’m done with the series. I suggested instead setting the nonsense aside in its own game. Their next DiRT game was exactly that - nonsense in its own game in the form of DiRT Showdown. I didn’t touch it. Then they made an actual racing game in DiRT Rally, which was exactly what adults wanted. Then DiRT 4 was a proper DiRT game. I was very happy with this direction.
