AI drivers making my laps dirty. I have searched

Hello fellow Forza fans.

A quick note for those who know me. I had septic shock on Fathers Day 2014. 6 heart attacks, 4 weeks in a coma, intubated, kidney and liver failure and my wife planning my funeral 2 times, I am still here. The Dr’s gave me a 5% chance to live. I got out of the hospital in Oct 2014. I have no feeling below my knees now and I have neuropathy in my arms and legs. Not as coordinated as before, but playing just the same. Please forgive my Drivatar.

I have searched for an answer and nothing comes up. Why are my laps dirty when I don’t even touch the AI cars?

Thanks to Forza, I am not going insane while confined to my bed!!

Thanks In Advance for your responses.

Make sure you have no mods turned on as any kind of mod will dirty your lap

Also make sure you aren’t drafting off the AI because that will dirty your lap too

I know this was the case in Forza 3 but not sure about this one, but if AI draft off you that will dirty your lap as well

It’s more than likely down to drafting. Either you drafting them, or them drafting you. If either occurs either during the lap you’re on or in the last sector of the previous lap, that will dirty your lap.

Also the use of rewind during your current lap or going off track during the lap or in the final sector of the previous lap.

Mods also will automatically dirty your lap.

If you’ve not got any mods equipped in most career races it is possible to get clean laps only once you’ve broken well away from the chasing pack.

Hope that helps - also hope your health is on the mend.

Cheers

being drafted can also make you dirty. basically you cant go off track, do any damage, and be spaced so you cant see anyone in front or behind you. dont worry about clean laps in races, other cars beyond your control can dirty you. over reving the engine, mis shifting, locking up the tires, etc…dirty you. turn off damage and race rivals if you want clean laps. its too hard to do in a normal race, it happens sometimes and is pure luck when it does.

I’ve given up trying to do clean laps in Career so I use mods freely. I only do clean laps in Rivals.

Does anyone know why you get a dirty lap if someone drafts off of you? I understand the advantage of you drafting off a drivatar but not the other way around unless its the whole NASCAR bumping thing.

Glad Forza is keeping you company.

It benefits the lead car as well as they will effectively use less energy

Taken from Wikipedia: “As the second car nears the first it pushes high-pressure air forward so less fast-moving air hits the lead car’s spoiler. The result is less drag for both cars, allowing faster speeds.”

I believe this is the Nascar bump you are referring too, however I don`t think the game differentiates between this actually happening or not so it will just dirty the lead car’s lap either way

double post

triple post mod pls delete sorry

Right. Like I said, if you are close up on each other (like in NASCAR) it can help you, but not when you are half way down the straight from the next guy behind you.

I am a fan of NASCAR and should have thought about that. I would have never thought T10 would put that in.

BTW I use your files in Forza. Great job.

This.

Also, if it’ sort of punishing both people attempting to cheat the system.

This is my issue as well. What advantage do I gain from them drafting. This has to be the reason for the dirty laps.

Thanks all for the reply’s and well wishes!!! I cannot play COD any longer, so Forza racing it is. I do try some online and race as clean as I can. I usually fade to the back out of everyone’s way.

Congrats on your remarkable recovery! I too had one. A bad auto crash. A young girl hit some black ice and hit me head on at 50 MPH each ( 100 MPH into a brick wall ) less than 2% for 2 days and 7 months in a wheel chair. I was very lucky and had a very good recovery. The most major thing was my severed aeorta. Anyway hang in there and glad you can play. I always try to remind myself what I have and can do, not what I don’t and can’t. It helps that I am gullible enough to believe myself too.

Sounds like you were blessed as well.

I am that way as well. I am lucky to have the benefit of the VA. You hear lots of stories about the VA. I don’t have those issues with my healthcare there.

I appreciate the responses. Now that you mention it, I am probably getting drafted, which is making my laps dirty. I have been playing since Forza 2. I really didn’t pay that close attention to it because I wasn’t trying to complete the game like I am now.

Well then I thank you for your service!!! I also am a veteran of the Air Force.

thank you for your service as well…

Best wishes to Medic and Dan. I guess I am blessed too. A drunk guy crashed into me in a turn at night. It could have been a head on crash but he just hit the side of my car. I smashed the window of the driver’s door with my shoulder. Be careful when driving in real life. Bad things happen faster than you think.

I believed that too but a head on crash with both cars doing 50 MPH is not the same as a 100 MPH crash against a brick wall. Both cars have a certain amount of energy/speed but also both cars are destroyed after the crash. A 50 MPH crash is horrible enough though.

In Forza drafting only works at speeds higher than 100 MPH and within 60 meters (~200 feet).

i was a paramedic/firefighter and the drunk crashes always had the sober victim injured more than the drunk. they just go with the flow and don’t tense up.

i didn’t know about the 100 mph info. i am learning quite a bit here. now if i can get a tuner to take me on as an apprentice, i will be good to go.
