Having read stories that certain games load much quicker when using an external hard drive, i decided to bite the bullet. Forza Horizon 2 for me would take 2 min 55secs from the choosing to play to arriving at the car meet. This was driving me nuts, but having moved the game over to an external drive, i now only wait 1 min 42 secs…much quicker…!
Its not just a case of moving it to an external hdd, it has to be a faster drive than the internal one.
Western Digital 320gb 5400rpm.
as long as the external drive is USB 3.0 then you’re OK.
if it’s USB 2.0 then you’re no better than the internal drive.
