So I finally got the game (again), and everything is working better than I even expected. My only concern is that the game runs constantly at 144fps with no option for 72, 100 or dynamic like in other Forzas. My PC can handle it, but I feel I’m forcing my GPU unnecessarily, specially now that summer is near and temps get higher. I only get 144 and beyond as an option. Is there any way to cap the frames at a lower rating than my refresh rate?
Use afterburner or evga precision and you can cap framerate in those. It’s in the settings menu iirc.
Don’t you have vsync options in your video card’s control panel??? Seems like an obvious answer to your problem.
VSync will introduce additional input lag.
I see you have NVIDIA card - the best way you can cap FPS is using nvidiaProfileInspector => link
AFAIK there’s no support for any third-party limiter (RivaTuner etc.) at least not in Final game, demo have no-problems (this is probably due to anti-cheat protection).
In my case I can’t bear tearing so I’m using VSync.

Unfortunatelly, the game FPS option doesn’t work for some (all?) people (me included).
The only thing that works is NVIDIA Inspector.
Find the game profile, go to “framerate limiter”, and set it to the desired value:
MSI Afterburner and every other third party utility can’t limit frame rate in this game due to game protection.
NVIDIA Inspector can do this because it just alters a hidden (in NVIDIA Control Panel) parameter in game profile.
