A positive Forza 7 topic of ONLY positive feedback!

They did a phenomenal job optimizing FM7 on all three platforms. I couldn’t believe how good it looks on a standard xbox one. Can’t wait for friday!

Hah, Brokenvegetable, i saw you in the livestream last night.

And yes i can’t wait, this is the game i’ve been waiting for this month. The thing i love about these kind of racing games is carsettings and tuning, and mainly dragracing, i can spend hours tinkering with settings and race again :D. The graphics and sounds are great so far, the amount of cars and tracks, amount of features.

And about the negativity, well, almost every big AAA gaming company has to deal with the same stuff on forums, raging kids, impatience, “zomg you are so bad coders, we want refunds, boycot etc”, but in the end, they will play it anyway

Anyway i’m ready for FM7 Ultimate Edition!

Awesome thread and opening post Brokenvegetable, I agree with most that this was really needed and props to you for kicking it off xD

FYI - I have been playing sim-racing games on PC since Geoff Crammonds GP1 and Colin McRae with a game port joystick back in 1997/98, I have pretty much bought and played every single title that has been released since and I am the ripe old age of 44, not a prune just yet … just lots of ripeness :-p

I only started my Forza journey last year with the release of FM6:APEX on PC, then after wheel support was added I pre-ordered FH3 UE and played it to death, next I went and bought a XBONE so I could play it on the big TV in the bedroom, then I bought FM6 for the XBONE and started enjoying the FM series as well, then an elite controller, then FM5 and now I am bloody hooked lol … picking up a 2nd-hand XB360S tomorrow with FM4 and managed to find FM2, FM3 and FH1 for the 360 as well on gumtree.com.au … now I just need to pick me up FH2 (already picked up the FH2 F&F Standalone on the XBONE) and I will be TOTALLY FORZAFIED

Sooooo … a massive thank you from me to T10 and PG for all the fun I have had thus far and all the fun ahead of me in a little over 6 hours time with your latest and greatest creation

Every Forza is a positive for me,keep em coming guys!!!

Last year, I bought the X Box One specifically for one series: Forza and I played every available Forza title (but the WIN10-exclusive Apex) since then in some kind of time lapse. It’s amazing too see how the series developed over the years and even more astonishing what they’ll pull off with Forza Motorsport 7.

The lighting just looks perfect, the weather changes are awesome (I love the FFB effect on a thunderclap and I hope we see snow too in the release version!) and even if the game looks more detailed than FM6, it still runs smooth on the normal XBox One. Gran Turismo Sport has a tough competitor for sure (though I won’t miss that title either).

As this is a positive only thread, I won’t comment on the Porsche handling and have trust in the pro tuners out there ; )

Great post. Ive changed my mind a lot about F7 after seeing a lot of amazing footage and having bought Project Cars 2…which by the way is very good. My first pessimistic thoughts came when I heard the tracklist was mainly the same as Forza 6. I think dissapointment was justified and im sure will have a few pre orders cancelled.
However…it seems the day, night, weather systems and of course the glorious graphics just might save the day. I will buy the game and im really looking forward to it. Im just hoping the tracks ive played on for years look immediately different in some way. But certainly the weather graphics and even graphics in general are waaay better than project cars.

Apart from the original Forza Motorsport, this will be the first time I will try to dedicate myself to get 100%. If any compliment has to be said, I really think that this game is worthy to be called the true heir to Gran Turismo’s legacy. Building upon the same concept that fans of this sub-genre have come to adore.

I always look forward to a new motorsport title, been a huge fan of the franchise since FM1 although it was really FM2 that properly got me hooked. Could the game be better for me? Yes but no game is perfect and I have always accepted the few flaws because ultimately these games are still massive fun to play. If it wasn’t for Forza I probably wouldn’t even have an Xbox.

Roll on midnight tonight - maybe we need a countdown thread given that I’m sure there will be a number of players counting down the last few hours!

Let me try!

It’s pretty cool that they gave us the Fast and Furious pack mostly filled with modified versions of cars we already have instead of going to all the trouble to bring new, highly requested cars to the game. All that time they saved by recycling the AMG GT, F-Type and so on can be spent working on something more important, like new driver suits! I really hope we get one that makes us look like a Lego man!

It’s also great thinking to not allow us to control the time of day in the race settings. Imagine how annoying it would be to have to scroll past that on the list each time! Really streamlines the whole process because you don’t have to sit there and spend time deciding between all those options like “morning” or “midday” and stuff, it would take forever to set up a race.

I also like that they have only given us one new track. If they had any more than that, it might have overloaded our brains trying to learn them all! So thoughtful Turn 10.

Speaking of taking it easy on our brains, they also didn’t add any confusing pit stops for rain tires and such. It would be so hard to decide when to pit, I think it would stress the community out too much and really hurt the fun people can have with the game.

Oh and we have a whole 12 new cars! They are really a lot of work, so it must have taken their big vehicle design team tens of hours to put those into the game. And even better, in a few months we will be able to pay more money to (possibly) get some those cars we have been asking for since Forza 6! We won’t get all of them though, because surely Turn 10 will add in some totally awesome surprises that no one thought to ask for, like the Pontiac Aztek in Forza 6. Remember how great it was and how many hours you spent driving it and customizing it and stuff?

If there is one thing I have to be a bit negative about though, it’s that we aren’t getting any of the Hot Wheels tracks… I mean come on Turn 10, at least add in the bit where we can choose between the loop and the jump through the ring of fire on like Road America or something.

In that case, you should just keep playing Forza 6. Now that was thoughtful! Turn10 is so considerate that they gave you the choice not to buy the game and save $$$! So I guess you won’t be playing then? I’m saddened by this. Your absence will be sorely missed.

Been jamming last 3hrs like it so far!

Having to unlock cars, awesome challenge, almost fm2 like’ish

I think I might start actually playing again since being relatively absent since fm4

in the spirit of keeping it positive

also, anyone in this post (positive gamers I mean) feel free to add me and we can do some multiplayer.
would be nice to race online with positive people regardless of skill level

OMG! You are just “right on the money here!”

Yes! The Fate of the Furious Pack is sooo cool! Did you see the Corvette? From the photos it looks like they extended the wheel wells too to give it a wider stance; so cool! And you are right, don’t waste time with those “highly requested cars”, they’re only “highly requested” by the whiners anyways. No one else really gives a donkey kong about them. Lego Man Driver Suit? I’m hoping for a Batman or Iron Man suit myself.

I couldn’t agree with you more… every extra “click” I have to make wastes quality racing time!

Well, actually I think there are more than one new track… maybe two. But I get your point and totally agree. We’re experienced Forza players, we don’t want a whole new set of tracks that we have to start all over again with. Yes, keep the quality tracks and give us a few new ones… maybe offer some more down the road. Right On!

OMG! You and I are like, on the same thought pattern! Why the heck would I want to mess around with rain tires during a race? With as quick as the weather system is, what would happen if it turned into a down pour right after I passed the pits? I would be SOL! Good thinking!

Yes, Yes! 12 new cars and all of the other game’s cars merged into one game for a total of 700 cars! What the heck am I going to do with 700 cars!? OMG! The Aztek! You and me both brother… hours and hours… I’ll have to share some of my designs with you.

Now this is the only one I have to disagree with. The Hot Wheels stuff in FH3 made it feel too much like a… game. Just not for me.

But everything else… I got your number.

What up BV… Been a long time my man.

Yes it has been a long time. Forza 4 was the last time I think. Hope everything is going well!

Sigh… I guess I’ll be the one to break it down for you.

  1. The FnF thing is a day one pack and while I’m not a FnF fan either I know the new cars will likely be DLC as they should be. A lot of cars will be new to me because I bought no car DLC for Forza 6 or Horizon 3. Driver suits will be used by many people even if you don’t care.

  2. Time of day should be controllable and they should have more tracks with weather/night options. This one I don’t get either.

  3. With tracks returning all these tracks had to the game they had to be redone and yeah these are not new to franchise but they are highly requested and that’s a good thing right? Also Homestead is new to me because I’m not into Nascar and did not buy the expansion even on sale.

  4. Pit strategy has never been part of the Forza formula. If I want in depth pit options I play Formula 1. Forza is more of a pick up and play short race game for most people.

  5. New cars are probably coming or most likely coming as DLC. Not all cars you might like. It’s a random grab bag and if you want to be sure, wait till all the packs are released first.

There is nothing to get really. They dont have those options because it would cause the game to drop below 60fps on the lowest common denominator.

This is the same reason FOV and POV options most likely will not exist either (Maybe on PC if they decide to put it in that version) for the same reasons.

TLDR: Render budget.
