I LOVE the new leagues, last week for b class I placed 31 out of about 2500 people and got a good chunk of money for it. It puts me in pinnacle for all the leages as I’m not too shabby at forza
, but anyways, A class racing frustrates me so much. Unless you use the Alfa 33 or the bac mono, you loose. I know the Alfa has always been a rly good car, but I always tried not to use it as I view it as the noob or try-hard car that’s OP and easy to use. In FH2 I always beat them online as well as on the leaderboards with my own tunes on other cars, specifically a 92’ ford escort. But in fm6, ANY other car will be defeated by it, and I don’t wanna be stuck to using the stupid Alfa for every single race in a class. No fun. The Alfa in a class is like the classic mini in b class… Something’s up with it. The PI system is supposed to keep racing even between any car, sure there will be those few cars that shine but when it’s just one car - the Alfa - just annoys me. The bac mono is almost as good but beatable and not as frustrating to race. Just stinks knowing your the better driver but they are winning just cause the car is OP. FH2 was perfect cause u had a chance of winning in just about anything, it was all the driver. But now in fm6 it’s more the car.
Just thought I’d throw out what I’ve been noticing on the forums, thanks!
Every class and track will have a car that is arguably the best for it. They aren’t all exactly equal. It would be boring if every car with the same PI handled exactly the same, not to mention that tuning would be meaningless. I don’t think the Alfa 33 in A class is nearly as OP as you suggest. It’s one of the best cars for many tracks, but it’s not like its broken like the mini is. Now if you know that everyone will be driving a certain car, drive it too and then the race really is about who is the best driver, but you won’t have any excuses when you lose.
Slightly off topic; But are the leagues Ghost races or against live competitors…?
Live competitors.
I beat Alfa 33’s all the time with my Miura on tight, handling-centric tracks. For higher-speed, handling tracks, my 190 also can hold its own against them very well.
That said, the Alfa is a VERY good car in A Class. As you mentioned, it’s been tough to beat for a long time. (since FM4 I think) but the Alfa is not unbeatable like the 65 Mini.
Is it a “leaderboard car”? Yes it always has been.
Are you a HUGE tool if you use one in a lobby? Yes you are!
And it’s the same with the BAC Mono. Tough to beat on tight tracks but the Mono is a slow, useless, road hazard to other drivers on medium to large tracks. You can always spot the n00bs in a lobby because they are the ones running a Mono on Daytona, Indy, Nurburgring, or other “fast” tracks.
But don’t take my word for it… load up the Leaderboards in Rivals for A Class and look for yourself. They are NOT dominated by Alfas or Monos.

Mmm I’ll try out the miura, yeah that’s all very true. I just love b class where I have multiple cars that are all rly close in performance, like my S2K and integra, and others that are just as good. the b class cars are all pretty even which makes it exciting see what people are using. Sure there are cars like you mentioned that will beat the Alfa, but 98% of people use the Alfa and it’s annoying. Heck even S class I can do pretty good with my hawk eye Subaru up against other heavyweights, it’s just the Alfa in A class that always ticks me off. It is very fun sometimes to use the exact same car as your friends to see who’s the better driver but when the majority of people race Alfas in all a class lobbies it’s just annoying. I have a hatred for that thing ever since fm4 lol
You want to be cool and use something different, fine. I think if you don’t use what you consider to be the best car, in a league lobby, you’re an idiot.

BTW. good races last night, Scott.

If you only care about winning then yes use the LB cars but as you know by now your LB score only is payout really. You being in the upper tier you can only ever go down but does that really matter?
I have seen the higher you go the cleaner and faster the racing. In the case of the new A class lobby this is a perfect time to try out different cars and really try and push them to their limits while racing it without fear of getting wrecked. Trust me someone one day didn’t just look at the list of cars and go “oh there we go the alfa 33 is the next LB car” no it was times like these that people found it to be really good.
The other thing is why care about winning all the time. I take a LOTUS 211 to Daytona and push that thing to the max and have a blast with it. Sure I’m usually mid pack in a full lobby but the times I’m close to a pack and I can blow them out of the water in the tight part of the track is awesome to see and do. Its even more rewarding when you see a car that you know just wont do what the lotus can do try it because the guys like “well that car can take that corner that fast I can do that” and bam epic fail.

LOL! You know the types I’m referring to L0CK3D! and I agree! Those were some DAMN good races last night.
When it comes to LB cars I have my own policy. Everyone else can do what they want.
In Forza 5 and 4, I had nearly 100 A Class cars that I tuned alone! Some were set up for specific tracks, some were hot-lapping cars and yes, if I wanted to keep my position in the Top 1%, sometimes that meant I needed to build a car that is more competitive on that track.
That said…
When I race in lobbies, I spend the first few races gauging the other drivers and I try to use cars that I can be competitive with but not dominate. Winning still possible but not guaranteed. (provided I don’t get taken out of course. ![]()

I’m not a fan of using LB cars but if it’s a room with a bunch of people dominating using them and no one seems to speak up about them I’ll break one out. Just after is typically when a new guy comes in the room and starts in about people using LB cars.
The monos are fairly quick. But like has been said, seem to be driven by people who aren’t very good.
I just dislike seeing the same car used for 5 different drivers. I like to see variety in races.

Yes!! Variety!! I’m not a fan of this weeks league classes, A class where everyone uses the Alfa, and S class touring where there’s only 5 cars to choose from lol
I actually prefer races where everyone is in the exact same car and tune. Then it really is all about the driver.
I’m not into this whole “who can find the best, almost, but not quite LB car”

Good for you. Everyone has their own goals.
Sometimes I just want to do clean laps in whatever car I happen to have.
Like time attacks but with other people → Ghost Leagues.
Thanks for the responses guys, I might have to suck it up and tune up an Alfa haha. I just don’t like A Class that much right now. Wish there was B or S for the leagues this week. (Not the touring car S class)
EDIT - starting to like A Class a little better now as I found a couple good cars that are sort of competitive with the Alfa, still not as good as it though, that’s where skill making up for the car is what determines if I beat them. Still refusing to tune one lol.
EDIT - finally bought one and got a tune for it. This thing is so OP for A Class lol. Now I’m winning like everything. The handling coupled with the acceleration is ridiculous! I can see why everyone uses it.
I like to praise them for beating all of us in our Chevys and what have you. Most of the time Everyone laughs and 9 out 10 times the tool running the leaderboard car leaves. Or even better they pull out a normal car and get dusted by half the lobby. Good times.
I read this thread yesterday and had to see for myself. Yes, the Alfa and BAC Mono are fast, but not Mini fast. I tested a few cars out and found I was equally competitive in the Shelby Daytona. If you don’t mind breaking the bank to buy one it’s a great car.
…or maybe I just love an old Shelby
Damn, I only started league racing last night and I thought " Check the leaderboards to see what is quick" and Yes, I chose an ALFA. Now I find that I have become a tool. Whats worse, I wasn’t even totally dominant. So if I want to stop being a tool, Iv’e got to get another car and be even less competitive ! Damn !!
Im top of the ghost league at the moment and I dont use the Alfa 33 except for one track. I dont like the way it handles, to me it feels like its rotating about its centre instead of steering from the front which is just weird.
Ive been using the Mercury Cougar which can compete on most long-ish tracks, the Lotus 2-Eleven can compete on shorter tracks too, its on par with the Mono in a lot of cases. Nissan GTR is also a good shout especially on Rio.
The Alfas are still faster in the right hands but I can place 1-5th in most races without it.
