9 seconds off the pace

I have been hot lapping Prague this evening in the rivals spec event using the McLaren P1, the top leaderboard time is 1:45 , I’m at 1:54 ish, I can’t see how I’m going to gain another 2 seconds , let alone 9.

I’m using a thrustmaster tx wheel and would consider myself to be an above average driver. I’m literally b*lls to the wall to get the 1:54

I used to be an avid player of the code masters f1games and could get fairly close to the top of the leaderboards if I put my mind to it so I’m not a complete dumpling when it comes to racing games.

Are the leaderboards badly glitched or something,

Maybe all I need is a reality check about my own abilities lol

It is not a glitch some people are just that fast.

You can set the top person as your rival then try & keep up with them that will quickly show you where your losing time.

It takes a lot of practice and natural ability to set some of the times these guys are running.

I wish there was a way of seeing if a lap time was done with a controller or a wheel. Then you can compete like for like.

Those top guys are aliens,we can only aspire to be that good!

if any tuning is allowed that could be it. also turn off any assists you done need. no auto brake and use munual shifting.

and while i dont think this is glitched yes some times there are glitches like the b class silverstone race where the leader has a -5 second dirty lap. there is no way without a glitch you finish the lap 5 seconds before you started it. i’m thinking maybe his clock got updated/corrected mid race. he wasn’t useing a delorian.

Not all players are created equal. I’m faster than at least 95% of players on Forza, with a history of mostly times in the top 1% or 2% in previous games, and I’m still probably a good ten seconds off the pace of the top times. We can be good and still come nowhere close to the top handful of people. You might spend years improving your abilities and inching closer to the top, or you may never get much closer no matter how hard you try. Either way, I don’t think there’s anything you can do to suddenly gain nine seconds and match the top 0.01% all of a sudden.

Tune is like 80% of it, you can’t beat someone in a faster car (or not by much). I’m consistently 3-4 seconds off of the fastest time on many tracks, and I feel like where I’m missing the time is in consistent dipping 2 wheels off the track for every turn. Everyone has their performance limit, and the only way I’ve seen people improve in this game is practice, practice, and practice. Go to rivals, run the #1 dude’s line, tune some crap, avoid crashes in lobbies… and skadoosh, you’re better than yesterday.

Line, assists, Break points and tune. As mentioned above use a Rival to watch there replay(I use GTz Chris as he is always in the top 5 on any class) and practice. Keep using the rewind function if you think you have taken a turn wrong until you run down them seconds/100th’s
