That’s it really. I like the game and have defended it here. 32 races for a reward car in a month for a game that is not perfect feels like an arrogant d*** move to me. The road/race car concept is great. I quite like Road Atlanta. But throw us a bone, show you understand some of the feeling.
I guess if i’m not alone in dropping out for this month then in future we’ll have much better economy with this kind of thing.
I play a lot, my real gamertag is TamerBurrito839.
So this is a genuine question bro, you say you like the game and have defended it. So say if there was no reward , except the normal credits , would you have played the new content?
I’m not saying you’re right or wrong but I think I probably would have, understand I’m prob in the minority here but I find the SP something to chill to as opposed the high blood pressure MP, which I also like.
Half of the forum is asking for more single player content, so this is them giving us more single player content. Problem is, T10 doesnt seem to understand, or care, that what people are really asking for is a career mode, or at least permanent content.
The grumble is surely the time-limited part. It’s objectionable to be forced to do 50 races over a month or so if you want to obtain two cars. If they were added properly to the game, so that those races could be done as and when people have time then I suspect that the complaints would be more limited (albeit several hours to obtain one car is still quite a lot).
Yes, yes, yes, arrogant… We prefer GT7 economy where we need to do 320 races for having enought credit for buying cars that are randomly available at dealer
Yes, “forcing” players to complete so many races in limited time for just one car (that will be available again God knows when) is too much. 32 short races are better than 8 long ones (in Endurance Month) so I’ll try obtaining that Aston Martin anyway (I like the car) but I’m going to skip most practice sessions this time.
I’m usually first to attack GT7’s economy (it’s true that ridiculous grind is required to obtain many cars and some nasty FOMO tools are at play there too) but at least rotation at dealerships is relatively quick and majority of cars added with updates cost no more than 500k credits. It doesn’t feel so bad anymore when compared to FOMO in Forza Motorsport, sadly.
re. GT7 economy - haha!! - havent played it. I’ve seen some footage of the follow cam oddness, but tbh GT7 usually looks way better to me. I dont have a big rig or anything, but i’ve loyally adored Forza since FM2, GT i played years before that.
Plus read the reviews / commenters on the vids for it - you can see the passion straight away, they love it, and its not hard to see why.
I get that those of you with $1000+ rigs / those of you seeking global top 100 times might play / view these two differently to me, that’s fine.
I work by shifts and I don’t have much time to play and don’t like to miss some cars. I wish they kinda make the cars permanent. Put a price on them I will buy them later… I like single player stuff but life is life.
Maybe 8-ish, plus a speed trap, a speed zone, a danger sign, a drift zone, a rivals lap, a treasure hunt, a photo, & smashing 10 collectibles each week.
It’s usually quick enough to knock it all out in one or two brief play sessions.
Horizon races are usually quite short, especially if it’s a point-to-point route.
Haven’t played for a while but it was generally a bit over 30 minutes when it used to be 20 points for the car. You’d get 4 new cars in a month for the effort required to get one here. You also had options as to how to get to the points so you could avoid events you weren’t interested in.
There is an annoying grind to obtaining some of the cars in Gran Turismo 7, mainly because of how low some of the races pay out as far as winnings go and how realistically priced some of those cars are. That said, the cars are cycled in and out on a regular basis, so you’re never too far away from another chance to obtain that McLaren F1 or Ferrari 250 GTO. Contrast this with Forza, where missing out on a car means you miss out, period - Horizon 5 has been much better about it lately, but you are still at the mercy of Playground Games’ whims. Turn 10 has shown no interest, on the other hand, and has only brought back cars as a mea culpa for screw-ups they can’t avoid taking responsibility for.
Last Saturday, I wanted to repeat the R class using MK2 GT40. Server disconnected, then the game crashed. I’ve also seen how people praise GT7, so I ordered a PS5 that was delivered in 29 minutes. Grabbed GT7 and been playing it for a week now.
FM23 is superior in driving feel, driving/breaking line, upgrading/turning, and most importantly to me the chase far camera.
Playing FM23 and GT7 back to back makes me appreciate how refined FM23 is. Every track that is available in both games looks and feels better. That also applies to non race cars specially the older ones that I like.
Add to it the unavailability of the cars even when you have enough to buy.
Then, comes the graphics. Player’s car paint looks better in Gt7. Yet the lens effect with the sun reflection is more like poking my eyes with screwdriver.
Those who hyped GT7 made me spend $400 on a console I don’t need and $90 on a game I didn’t like.
To conclude this rant, game stability is the only advantage GT7 has over FM23.
