Yeah it’s possible, that after year or so we will get old series back as pernament one.
Problem is in rivals it’s at 100% fuel load which kills it, big time

Still fairly quick but, yeah, I understand it’s 2-3 seconds slower than it would be online.
Bit off topic but:
The renault reminded me of the f687/s from gran turismo 3 but when we got the game the livery editor was glitched for the renault and wouldnt work.
But with this weeks challenge being other classic f1 cars i decided to put the livery on the mclaren.
I had to make a few changes because the textures are a bit weird. If you put stickers on the sides in bleeds through inside and if you put stickers on the front wing end plates it bleeds through to the nose.

The 70s F1 event is a good example of how fuel alters these light cars. You can’t use the Renault (it’s Ferrari/McLaren only sadly).
The Ferrari can only reach 884 PI and I was still in the 37s cruising around at Kyalami (for perspective my best time in rivals albeit not in anything meta is a 38.9 which is just outside the top 100). With a quick rivals run, the best I can do in the Ferrari was 2 seconds slower - 1.39s. Presumably the Renault would be a lot quicker with the extra 16PI.

It was weird that the AI was using the Renaults. Still an easy win for the Ferrari though because of the useless AI and clutch exploit
Rivals should ideally be optimal conditions, 5% fuel, 100% track rubber.
Thought I’d try the Renault for the R class event. Ran 2.10 at Spa and 1.18.6 at Brands Hatch (and got delayed by a backmarker on that lap as well). Even at Daytona when I could only get to 188mph it was doing 1.35s. My tune doesn’t even feel that good. Fairly ridiculous car.
Well, it is a year newer than it’s competition, and the first “turbo era” car in F1. I would have rather seen the RS10 from '79, but that would be even more lopsided.
It’s better than (or very close to) any R class car in the game, not just the 70s F1 cars.

The Renault is the new meta for online R-Class. It’s at least a second faster than the Mclaren or Porsche and one some tracks like Spa or Yas Marina you can pick softs and absolutely delete the old meta,
Most older F1 cars can still run circles around a supercar on the track. Maybe they need to keep separating the divisions and exclude open wheel cars from the Class lobbies like people have said in the past.
