Whats up with this I have seen a few people using 70s f1 cars in R class and obviously just being way ahead of everyone

Since they’re not X classed, I believe they’re in the right class. Those cars are not so big on speed as they are agile around the corners, and that’s their only edge, really.
you cant pick the car directly from the lobby you have to be in the car and then search for the lobby to kinda cheat it in a little

Most of the tracks in the game will favor cars with acceleration, handling and braking. Speed, as a stat has too much weight in the class system.
In R class the top speeds seem to be weighted too little.
I Beat them in my zonda. Although I class myself as best in most lobbys.
It was the same in FM5. Many will pick the Zonda or 60’s F1 cars. The F1 cars are good on cornering tracks but the problem with them seems to be they don’t have the power to get away and are somewhat fragile in with other cars. I’ve seen them get punted off the track much easier than other cars and because they lack the power, that’s exactly where they will be - in with the other cars.
But if they can get away on the downforce tracks, you probably can’t catch them.
The older F1 cars are really light and moderately powerful enough, also have really fat rear tyres so they accelerate out of corners really well. They may be top speed limited and that’s where you see the likes of the Zondas, Ultimas, and a couple of other special bullet cars like my Ferrari F40 come into play at places like Sebring, etc.
Have a look on the leaderboards, the 70s F1 cars are rather prevalent.
Yep very well said. They’re very effective on tracks with high speed corners but there are cars that can keep up with them on those sort of- the McLaren M8B for example. Still kinda sucks that it’s a kind of glitch that people exploit but I’m sure they will fix it some time down the line.
Some cars, when upgraded, are going to perform better than others. Fact of life.

It is kind of sad that they have classed the cars as they have. In R class you have GT race cars, old F1 cars and hyper cars along with upgraded super cars.
It would be much better it these were broken down into 3 different groups

They probably should take out the Radical SR8 too. It seems to have similar handling and speed to the 70’s F1 cars. It’s almost always the drivatar that pulls way ahead of the rest.
They’d just make it R3, R2 and R1 like Forza 3 and 4 used to be if they were to change it 
Maybe they should bring back a U class for all the road cars and hypercars and missile cars.

Clearly this is an unintentional exploit considering you are not supposed to be able to select these cars, not like I really mind that exploit since I think public multiplayer hoppers should allow you to choose any vehicle you want as long as it fits within that class; banning specific vehicles is rather dumb in my opinion
The 70s F1 cars SHOULD be R class and they SHOULD outperform MOST other cars. There is no problem here that i see.
If they were S class then you might have a beef, but they arent.
