throw a good tune on the 08 dodge viper, its a good over all car. for lemans get a good tune on the saleen and its a winner. the henesy venom might be fast but i haven’t been able to fully control it yet. and for online you cant use the 76 f1s anymore.
I agree…R class should be for GT type cars not F1 or track toys. Wish we had more true race cars and less street cars. You can drive those in Horizon on a road where they belong. Bring back the DTM’s and NASCAR racers please.
I’m with the others, I wish the classes could be a bit sorted out. And p class shouldn’t have Indy cars on drag tires and f1 cars competing against GT cars.
I stopped racing in R class hoppers as soon they opened the separate GT lobby. I hope it’s permanent. I never wanted to race against the hyper cars (especially on tracks like Lemans).
Gt cars always have the advantage given the G’s they pull around turns…so best R class cars are the Gt models. As much as I can’t stand the Db9 (everyone uses it) it is the the best with the right tune. As for being able to race street cars in R class I really dig it. Those cars need proper tunes to compete…and tuning is half of what makes this game so great. Especially when you can make a track able car no one else will race in R class.
when you think about it gt cars in real life are modified production cars. p are purpose built prototypes. an a class car that that is upgraded and tuned to run in r class is the same thing as a gt car, only it is built by someone in the game without the money to do it in real life. all those porches, vettes, and ferraris you see doing the 24 hour races at lemans and sebring started life as street cars
I understand where GT cars originated but… No one in their right mind would try and race a 1000 horsepower VW beetle. For example in this months Rival event using the 2014 Civic at Road Atlanta all the top leaderboard scores are by 887 PI P class Civics. Is it really that important to be at the top of the leaderboards ? The race is setup for D class not P. The track toys are nothing more than a sand rail on steroids take it to the dirt. We have race tracks let’s have race cars. Drive on guys!
The rest I can see…I don’t know what kind of tune you’re using on the Miata, but I’ve messed around with it some and it is not very competitive in my opinion.
The GT cars are quite good. I think they are a little more difficult to master because I tend to get my better lap times in the hypercars and track toys. I don’t mind street cars in R class, there’s not many that can truly compete, really only those with high default downforce so you can tune several hundred pounds opposed to the standard 100 front, 200 back. If the FM wings added more downforce, then more cars could compete. I think I would like this more. I like when the leaderboards have several cars competing, opposed to the R class leaderboards where the top 500 times are the 76 F1 cars. To me it seems they bench marked R class at the fully upgraded GT cars, which is logical, then fudged some numbers to squeeze the F1 cars in there. They really are a few seconds faster on almost every track, they don’t belong in that class.
I fully fully upgraded it and put the aero fully to cornering and ride height as low as possible. Try that if that doesn’t work I think you might have to work with the anti roll bars and things like that.
For me the best all round GT is the #92 BMW GT2 , 9 times out of 10 it beats the DBR9 hands down providing it’s tuned well!
I must say at this point I am astonished how T10 have not added a single GT car to the original lineup , the game is just crying out for more as the monthly forza GT lobby has some of the best racing in the game!
Considering how popular the R Class racing was on FM4 it just baffles me as to why this part of the game has been a touch neglected thus far , i just hope we get some other decent GT class cars in the next pack!!!
i was out run by a datsun 500 once. but i thought forza calls it a nissan 500? i have gotten better since then tho so maybe i’ll see you on the track again some day.
