[Edit - MM]
To end on a positive note, like many others, I wish those who are not happy with Forza Horizon 5, or the direction the series is headed as a whole, find a racing game that gives them true joy in the future. There are a A LOT of racing games coming in 2022. Many of them are different enough and cater to different corners of the genre (sim to arcade), I hope there is something out there they can have fun with in a positive way instead of wallowing in a echo chamber of entitlement and negative reinforcement.
In closing, I mean this with all sincerity just like Iâve stated in the past:
I hope they find something that brings them true joy and happiness because life is too short to become so obsessed with the past and waste the future trying to reclaim it.
There are an extraordinary number of new racing games releasing in 2022. This is unprecedented, but if youâre a fan of racing games, the whole year will be like Christmas morning every few months. I hope there is something, there, these people who supposedly hate Forza Horizon, so much, find happiness in and finally learn to move on and enjoy life again instead of being addicted to posting constant negativity on an anonymous internet forum.
The only reason why youâre in your high horse when it comes to Forza Horizon is because it paid off. And a large part of why it paid off is because Forza Horizon currently has no major competition apart from The Crew 2, which is basically an inferior copy of Forza Horizon 3.
When they tried to pull the same thing in Forza Motorsport, the game had the lowest sales of the generation despite being on PC as well as Xbox. Every time Chris Esaki appears on stream itâs as if he was saying âplease forgive us and play our gameâ. Because they know how much they screwed up. It was Halo 5 levels of screwing up. They had people who regularly made content for Forza Motorsport defecting to the Gran Turismo camp and being happy with their decision, despite GTS being a barebones game and not really a true GT.
Eventually, Playground will screw up too. Or people will simply get bored. Whatâs their answer to it? Car football? This is not the 2000s anymore.
Anyway, the only entitlement I see here is from people who prefer the company of always happy players because they really do believe their game is absolutely perfect. Thus, I donât see constructive criticism working to change anything. Playlist was toned down in FH4 after criticism, but in FH5 they actually pushed it much harder.
Itâs pointless to be afraid of complainers, because they will always exist. I used to browse the EA forums way back in 2005 when NFS was at its peak and there were people there complaining. You just have to separate legit complaints from the âthis game is not Underground 2â type of stuff which is prevalent in NFS community today.
I have no idea which franchise you were a liaison for, but I suspect much of the criticism was well deserved. Especially if it was Battlefield. And this attitude does not help either. A fan who âmoves onâ is a fan who is not paying for your game. Fans will preorder, buy all the DLC, stick with you through thick and thin. Casuals come and go. As seen recently in Forza Horizon 5 itself.
52% of players earned the first house. Thatâs, like, embarrassing.
Imagine playing a âfreeâ game with cheap and easy fun to be had and not even doing something as basic as making it to Casa Bella.
UnlessâŚ
Itâs very clear that, although the game was a success, the 15 million number is heavily bloated by something, whether itâs duplicate accounts to farm likes, people taking advantage of $1 Game Pass codes on cereal meal packs, and so on. Itâs not real, substantial, sustainable success. But to Microsoft, it doesnât matter. If you graze the game, you become statistic.
FH5 has already fallen to FH4 viewership levels on Twitch pre-FH5 release. Casuals moved on. Game is heavily in need of new content to grow again. Preferably not car football.
Excellent job, they did. Game has critical bugs since release, with more added after an update, but weâre going into the second month without a major patch. I know itâs the holidays, but still.
Anyway, please enlighten us as to the âgreat stuffâ this game has that wasnât the same (or better) in older Forzas. Otherwise itâs just empty words.
With regards to our opinion, there are at least five times as many Forza Horizon fanboys as there are âhatersâ, most of whom even worse. Theyâre at full force on YouTube and even other forums.
My opinion on this is as simple as the number of players is a poor argument for a gameâs quality regardless of the game in question, I donât know about others here but it being FH5 has nothing to do with that opinion.
But like I alluded to I donât think this thread exists for that purpose.
On PC ever since the last patch when i exit the house i need to wait 2-3 seconds before hitting the gas. The game locks on something and i found my self in a wall most of the time.
Controller is losing the vibration functions. Have to restart.
Game starts without HDR working . Cars looks very bad.
I can go on for some time and i didnt even talked about the boring gameplay .super drivatars, stupid achievements that unlock for no reason.
Itâs hard do be positive, when you are annoyed like this often.
Maybe you need to find a new game to play? Or check your system? Millions of people are playing without these issues. Statistically speaking, the problem could be well be on your end.
I canât comment about HDR and Iâm not sure what he means by âwaitingâ (if the general loading screens and animations that got annoying really fast, then I agree; itâs the same on console as well), but the controller loosing vibration has been there since day one. For me it has been there since first 10-15 minutes I played the game (opening sequence of the game). alt-tabbing out of and back into the game or bringing Game Bar on and then off again seems to fix the issue most of the time, but not always, and itâs really annoying, when it happens during an online race (itâs like loosing one of your senses and you have to adjust your driving, which usually wonât go without mistakes).
