I finished Elite career mode with a check mark in every box for first place in every single race (whew!). It’s about a hundred hours of drive time. I played every race on short so that I could get all the way through career mode and go to freeplay, which is where I can do what I want. I had my fair share of crashes in the UI, especially when browsing rims. But I was able to race every single event, with some repeats to get to first place, and little bit of farming for cash with not one single crash.
So if you’re having stability or crash issues while racing on PC, I can definitely state that your system is likely the fault, and not the game. If you would like some tips and hints on how to build or configure a more stable gaming PC, feel free to ask or respond and I will do what I can to help. I’ve owned an IT consulting company for 22 years, and would love to help fellow racers.

I am basically running their ‘ideal’ setup and have CTD a ton, the majority of times not during a race. But there have been a number of CTD during a race too.
My analysis:
Tons of people have problems
I currently don’t have problems with any other game or programs.
That doesn’t mean it’s not the game’s fault. Setups differ immensly, and the crashes can be cashed by a lot of different factors playing at once, including hardware vendor/driver version, OS and OS version etc.
Just because you did not experience any crashes does not mean there isn’t a problem with the game. If the issue with our PCs, then those issues should also occur when playing other games, which they often don’t.
Your case of no crashing is more an exception than the standard. The majority of people, including myself, are still experiencing CTDs every other race, dealing with memory leak crashes etc. None of these issues happen in other games, so it’s very likely that these need to be solved by Turn 10 or the relevant hardware/software developer (Microsoft, Nvidia, AMD)
You simply can’t make a statement like that as if it’s a statement of fact. You don’t have access to the data to know if it’s a factual statement. Only T10 has that data and they don’t releases it publicly. The number of people who post here, on Reddit and anywhere else on the web to complain about problems and issues that they’re experiencing with the game is only a small fraction of the total number of people playing the game … and there’s no way to know exactly what a “majority” of the people are experiencing.
You can’t be calling me out on this, and ignore that opening post, where the OP is essentially projecting his personal experience with the game as a fact that there is nothing wrong with it. Fine, i’ll refrain from using terms such as ‘majority’. That being said, there are more than enough people who have serious crashing, memory leak issues on PC. The Technical Support forum is a clear indicator of that.
I’m not saying the game is perfect. But that exactly is my point. The fact that I have played over a hundred hours and every single race, more than once for a lot of them, with zero crashes; proves that the game is coded with stable code. If others are having trouble it could be an odd compatibility with drivers settings or hardware. Just because one game does crash and others don’t, does not make the game responsible. This game pushes your system very heavily and may be the reason that you are finding the crashes. So I will continue to disagree with you and my track record and knowledge base gives me that background to do so.
Don’t what? Always post helpful replies? I think this post is evidence of that. As someone who works in IT you should know with 100% certainty that your personal anecdote, where you even admit to experiencing a number of UI crashes, is not an accurate representation for everyone else. Did you ever stop and think that maybe you were just lucky and some of the causes for the UI crashing can remain and carry over into the race itself? The fault is in the game. When I have 30+ AAA titles from 2015+ installed on my rig and the ONLY one that crashes during normal play is Forza 7, chances are the fault is in the game since the other 29 titles can’t expose whatever flaw you claim my PC has. The crashes aren’t PC exclusive as they have been reported being experienced by console users as well(myself included. Since you assure us it must be our hardware, are you saying the fault lies in some people’s XB1’s? I can duplicate a crash right now on my XB1S if I race SUVs in freeplay and continue to about the 4th or 5th race in continuation. There’s more to the details but I’m not going to post them as last I checked it could still be used as an exploit to and I’m fairly sure T10 is aware since the reports of this from release week are now missing.
Congrats to your trouble free experience. Coming on these forums to rub people’s noses in this while blaming their hardware is bad form.
I did point it out when I said this post. Your entire OP is extremely patronizing and you come off with a “Holier than thou” attitude. Just because you don’t like it when someone points out faults doesn’t make it rude or juvenile, infact it’s fairly juvenile when you can’t handle criticism. When you said ‘I can definitely state that your system is likely the fault, and not the game.’ that is putting the blame on the consumer when you have absolutely zero evidence other than your own personal experience. There’s a dozen different ways that sentence could have been worded to seem like you were trying to be helpful but you chose the most patronizing form. You have several people in this post telling you something similar and each time you’ve attacked with a sarcastic remark. I at least gave you explanations and examples to why you were wrong but you again attacked with name calling. I get it, you work in IT and are exposed to an enormous amount of end users who “Don’t understand” but we aren’t your customers and many of us do understand. Maybe you did mean well but when you have several people in this thread interpreting it in the same manner, chances are it’s in your delivery and not in our interpretation.
I definetly do not agree with you here. Do you use a wheel or controller? Wheel (atleast g920) users like myself experience crashes or the wheel bugging out with the ffb. I do not recall getting crashes with only controller but the memory leaks the game suffers from is embarrasingly bad, that has not caused a crash for me yet though since i havent done long races yet. But that is a game fault and not the PC. Im sure certain PC’s run the game better but alot of us have issues isolated to forza.
Not sure what the point of this thread is really. You cant really help enough to fix the game, its up to the devs.
And you claiming to own IT consultant company is not relevant. My response it not to attack you but to put out some obvious facts.
I am a wheel user I have a fanatec clubsport V 2.5 with the forza P1 Alcantara wheel.
The point of this thread is that I can help people. In fact a few weeks ago I had a thread that I helped a handful of people go from crashing every hour to playing for hours without crashing. So instead of attacking me just because you’re having trouble and not believing that I can be helpful is not beneficial to anyone.
I’m not claiming to own an IT company, I do own an IT company. It’s called Wildcat Computers Consulting, it’s in Tucson Arizona, it’s been around since 1995. My company has sold millions and millions of dollars of hardware and I service companies everyday that run high-end 3D software (Revit). So I know how to build and configure high-end high performance, stable computers. You don’t have to trust me, I don’t care. But I’m putting the information out so people know I’m not just blowing smoke.
