Kinda pumped for it to. Have the Scorpio coming. At time of order I had no 4k HDR TV, but now I’ve got a 65" that the one s looks great on, so I’m ready.
I have a one x which has just been dispatched (according to Amazon) really looking forward to seeing forza in 4k and more importantly HDR as I have an original xb. Really hoping the load times are better and it’s less laggy in general as well. Probably won’t get to see it until Wednesday though due to 96g download
HDR makes a bigger difference than 4K. I’ve been playing it on both the Xbox One S and my 4K HDR PC set-up. And I can tell you that the hdr10 makes the game pop a lot more, unless of course you’re sitting right on top of your TV, then 4K will make a significant difference. Also those that have been playing it on the Xbox One S on a 4K TV upscaling with the S is pretty amazing. There’s not a wicked difference between that and my actual 4K PC output. You can see it most notably when in the menus and looking at that car statically. But once you’re racing the outputs on the S upscaled to 4K does a pretty darn good job. Those of you that are upgrading from an OG Xbox are going to see a big difference however.
There’s a graph floating around on here but I think the load Times show about 20% better. If you want really to get better load times you have to get yourself an SSD drive and a $15 USB to SSD adapter cable and plug that in. That will cut your load times in half, in fact in Horizon 3 it cut them down by 60%.
Also if you’ve got auto updates set on your Xbox it’s already downloaded the 4K patch. Go to the Xbox game hit the start button go to manage and look at the size of the game. if it’s close to a hundred gigs you’ve already got the bigger textures. This only works if you’ve got the game on an external drive. then you can just unplug the external drive, plug it into the new console and you’re all set.
Cancelled my pre ordered XBox X today. Despite having a 4K TV I cannot justify £450. Decided to wait until either the price is reduced or my Xbox One packs up.
You must be a PC player - Xbox players have had to wait for X1X for 4K functionality. I’m just waiting another hour to drive to a neighboring town to pick up my X1X - I’m an east coast Aussie so I’ll be among the first to get one, ha ha.
Well, I’ve got mine! Man, it’s heavy. There’s no power brick so all of the power adapting is done internally. I expect all that weight inside will be heat producing so I’ll keep an external fan on mine all the time - warm climate.
There’s a brief flash of a picture of the motherboard when you boot it and man, it’s 4K alright - you can really see the difference.
I’ve got Forza 7 on an external hard drive but I haven’t hooked it up yet. It’s doing a 700 odd MB update which will take a while.
My guess would be, no. Just ctd’s and lock ups alongside countless bugs… all in glorious 4K HDR. Like a magnifying glass for all the game breaking bugs.
