So there’s just over a month to go till launch day now.
We know all of the tracks.
We know almost all the New to Motorsport cars, and there’s about 150 other cars to come, but given most of these aren’t new there shouldn’t be many surprises.
We know the game modes, single player and multiplayer.
Not sure what they’re going to cover in Forza Monthly this September.
Gotta say, I’m still super psyched for launch day and can’t wait to get off the internet and finally play this thing. I’m actually looking forward to it more than getting home to play Starfield today.
I hope they will show us more details about BuildersCup:
How many (Car Level)s player may get in 3 lap practice + 3 lap race on couple of tracks.
What happens to CarPoints gained from using a car after level 50.
Which track is the best for leveling up cars.
What skills other than “taking corners at speed and clean racing” contribute to car xp.
Will clean racing in “challenge The Grid” increases Player Safty Rating?
About Rivals and Time Attack:
Do CarXP count the same way as in practice?
Can Rivals and Time Attacks be an alternative to practice to gain Car Level?
About Multi-player:
Since safety ratings are not affected in private MP, does driving faster through corners still count for CarXP?
Do players need to own the car that is featured in SpecRacing to gain CarXP during the race.
Achievements:
Look forward for the full release on Steam. I hope its gona be really long list, like over 200 every year.
Are Achievements going to be regularly updated like monthly or quarterly.
Tech stuff:
Support for ultra wide screen was announced on August 22nd. I still think we need more clarification about the best aspect ratio. Dose wider screen make player see more on both sides or the forward view will be reduced.
Would a supported steering provide more precise and faster corners compared with Xbox controller on PC.
Ice cream topping for next Forza Monthly:
Real game play by good player or players who is/are not involved in the game development.
If I understood Chris Esaki correctly in the MP discussion in last Forza Monthly, we can get CarXP in SpecRacing. I think that could be applied to Rivals.
About the need for more information and details, remember my troubles on upgrading to new PC. Just few days after they announced PC specs, thats when I knew that the big storage is not the fast SSD. Plus the 40 series RTX is the ideal not the 3090.
Now, I’ll use the credit + some extra cash to buy parts and build a PC with help from a nephew. He said its about 4 hours job.
You can still earn CarXP from Spec Series events to level up your car later, however for these events you will not be at a disadvantage if your car is Level 1 and an opponent car is at Level 50 – if you’re playing in the Spec series, they will be set to a pre-defined build and tune to keep a completely even challenge.
They do mention it being ‘your car’, so I don’t if you’ll be given one or you need to bring your own.
They don’t mention anything specifically for Rivals, but for Time Attack they do say you will keep leveling your car.
Just like Builders Cup, the cars you bring into Time Attack are always levelling up.
the fact that the game will run @ 60 fps online means that the specs are exagerrated. I have a ryzen 5700x combined with a 3060ti and i am confident that i will be able to run the game in high - very high settings.
I have a sweet tooth when it comes to how the game look. I favor low performance with highest graphics settings and highest resolution over higher FPS.
Combining high-resolution and extreme graphics with high frame rate is what I’m targeting.
I know that racing is not about how the game look for most players. But for me, what I see on the screen combined with the sound makes the game much more enjoyable.
The word “help” doesn’t really mean that I’ll be doing much myself. You know, like when a teenager help his father replace a flat tire. The parent done a great jop twesting that good old GM key to open the trunk.
Except supervision is not of any value when it comes to computers. Younger people know a lot more.
PR in my opinion was a mix of good and bad. The good highlighted in the 11 minutes video abou career mode, the Instagram posts, the written official announcements in the website, and the topics pinned in this section of the forum.
Shortcomings are the lack of scripted official videos coinciding with major announcements in July and August. Which left a void to be filled by YouTubers since fewer people would click on one hour video of Forza Monthly.
The bad was mainly timing like starting pre-order on xbox store before announcing PC requirements, and leaving some unanswered concerns of target audience.
In fairness, this time PR doing better than what happened before FH5 Rally Adventure releases.
On more wider view, you can see the PR disaster facing two other upcoming car games.
No doubt it’s a different product, but PR functioned way better in forming discussions about aspect and features. The base talking about tracks, cars, progression, XboxS performance, PC upgrades, simulation equipment, matchmaking in multiplayer, etc.
PR succeeded in forming such discussions by continuously have something to show. Not perfect, not as much as we like, but far better this time.
Two other games are coming, one is scrambling now to salvage what is left from collapsed PR and marketing campaign few days before release. The other game got more time to figure out it’s identity in hope that a revamped PR surfboard catches a wave in 5 or 6 months.
Watching the two makes me appreciate what we have.
Something worth noting, its super hard for PR to deal with passionate base, specially when you have polarizing -real- issue like the new car building system in upcoming FM23.
It looks like I’ll get my wish in few days. A YouTube video by @JakexvxYT promises an early ForzaMotorsport23 game play on September 11th.
He usually makes videos about FH5, mostly covering news, bugs and fixes, balanced and only critical when its due.
I assume that other YouTube channels owned by Forza Players would have access to same game play like @ericship_111@HokiHoshi and @AR12_Nick among others.
I’m very interested in the two most critical of BuildersCup in their latest videos -Nick and Hoki- about FM23. I trust them, and I expect to get from them honest and informative reviews.
Pretty much. It’s basically an old fashioned arcade mode where cars and tracks are, theoretically, all unlocked from the start. Motorsport 7 made it pointlessly convoluted by having you “rent” cars you didn’t have in your career garage. It was better than nothing, but Motorsport 4 allowed you to pick any car in any factory paint color and race against a grab bag of cars from the same class on any track and any difficulty that you wanted.
