So this wouldn’t be your necessarily favorite overall car of the game, but the one that surprised you as a favorite the most.
For me it is the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N Forza Edition. Typically I dislike front wheel drive cars in racing games, even if they’re tuned properly. I just prefer the handling and rotation characteristics of a rear wheel drive vehicle. But I fired up this Hyundai for the very first event in the builders cup, the practical performance of the modern tour and was pleasantly surprised.
I have it upgraded to B600 (max for this event) and tuned as a balanced circuit racer. Not only is it forgiving and handles well, but it has decent power for pulling out of the corners. Additionally, it works well in traffic and has great launch off the line and it’s generally just fun to drive.
Cherry on top for this little hatchback is that it sounds really good. A lot of the cars in this game sound very bland at best. I know there’s opinions up and down about the audio. And I can’t vouch for the accuracy of pretty much any car in this game. But this one sounds terrific.
Runner up for me is the 1997 Mazda RX7. I have mine setup with the body kit and tuned for short to medium track high grip, S800. This thing is an absolute monster holding the track and scooting past lesser vehicles. Sadly, even with some intake and exhaust upgrades, since I’m using the stock two rotor, it just sounds a like a worn out blender. Might be time for the four rotor upgrade
