Just wondering what cars people have used that surprised you with how good they were. I know they homologation system splits opinion but it has made me use so many more cars than normal.
For me my biggest surprise so far has been the Ferrari 360cs which in previous forza games I have hated for being a twitchy horrid shopping trolley. In FM7 it is like it has mated with a drum car and has more grip than it actually needs, you can drive it more aggressively than a hot hatch and it keeps rewarding you with faster and faster laps.
Let me know what you guys have stumbled across so I can give them a try.

Gonna cost you a pretty 800k+, but the Alfa TZ2 is actually a fantastic car for A class hopper racing.
Used to be an unstable, undrivable bucket of bolts that couldn’t put power to the road; but this game’s physics allow it to be nothing but grip and acceleration. Perfect for tracks like VIR.
The Lamborghini Jalpa is a delight with a few small tweaks (rear wing), the FE GT-R is a grippy little monster, the FE BRZ is quite nimble, and the Williams Clio is really fun (and a terror in its division in Prague).
Positively l am surprised of the Beetle GRC Rallye car. Pretty good fun to drive that car.
In a negative way l am surprised of the Ferrari 312p. My most beloved car in FM 4 - 6 is hard to handle in its homologation divisIon. At least untuned.
Sure there are some good cars, but the Leaderboard Cars remain the same. See the Sport GT Series. Nothing but Dodge Vipers, just choose one of the three…
ONE of the greatest not the greatest, which means there are other great cars. But since this car dominates the leaderboard it must mean that it’s OP as hell.
We can live in hope. It surprised me it wasn’t in here already. A nice little LC/LJ Torana would be very popular. My uncle used to race an XU1 for a Toyota Dealership(Never figured that one out) and pop the axle every second race however when it held up he won coz nothing could touch it. With the Bathurst track, it would be a blast and even with my current issues, ALL would be forgiven and erased from my memory.
The 360 Ferrari was always a good car in past Forza’s. I think it was ‘PTG Claret’ who made an excellent tune for that car. I haven’t got that car yet in FM7, but I’m glad to see the awkward Ferrari’s in FM5/6 are a lot friendlier in this release. The regular homologated versions of the F430 and 458 and 488 are a pleasure to drive and in a different class the Enzo responds well too. This is all good to see as previously these Ferrari’s were eye candy only really (with a few exceptions for track specific like the 488 was good at Monza and Le Mans in FM6 but on regular tracks with more corners was a nightmare to use).
Pontiac solstice … It was between that and the Audi tt in that division. I tried using the Audi and it was decent enough but for some reason the Pontiac seemed like a better car.
The Mugen crx is an absolute favorite of mine. It’s the first car I’ve sat down and turned (in fm7, been playing since fm1) and it surprised the hell out of people. 1600 lbs supercharged with 308 hp. Keeps up with v8s really well and corners amazingly. Check my storefront for the tune.
