I stuck through it, all the inexperienced noobs driving full blast into the first turn, all the wrecking and online bullying. I considered it a challenge at first, but the wreckers and greifers have won, at least as far as I’m concerened. My entire night was ruined race after race by yet another online bully.
You’ve all had your laughs, and have taken joy in ruining one of the only things left in my life that I consider fun and free of all the Garbage we have to put up with in real life.
Now, after this latest update even the Race Marshalls can’t spectate the games to cacth all the online bullies and wreckers. Well done.
You have won. I’m off to find some place that values racers with common sense, awareness and respect.
I’ve not played in about two months now i couldn’t take anymore of all the bs.
If it’s not the wreckers it’s the corner cutters.
If it’s not the 97 civic show it’s the unrealistic builds and tunes. I’ve done and cannot see myself getting forza 7.
Shame really it’s a great game ruined.
me and 5 or 6 other friends in agreement, l haven’t touched forza in 2 months after playing it constantly for years. ruined, wanted a good sim , now nothing but a mario kart ARCADE game. ls a shame, was realistic. plenty of ARCADE race games out there with much less aggravation. lf t10 ever decides to release a sim, im in, until then keep your mario kart.
It seems like this is around the time of the Forza cycle when it gets really bad. Still the holiday crowd playing.
They will grow tired of it.
Then, like 3-4 months before a new Forza comes out it gets slightly better as folks jump back in to hone their skills.
Then it gets a little better.
I loaned someone my Forza and I think they sold it, so I haven’t played in quite a while. I may buy a second hand disk to get warmed up for the next Forza, hopefully , it’s better then.
I hope you got some of that money they got when they sold your game. You need to reinstate some of those old fashioned blockbuster rental fees on those “friends” of yours. I for one would be quite angry if I gave a possession of mine to someone on loan and they sold it and kept the money. If I was you though it might not be a bad idea to wait for forza 7 now because it will be dropping in six months.
I had just moved to a new place, so I was trying to be nice and let him borrow it for a week. Silly me. Don’t let folks borrow games without getting something in exchange!
I would wait till 7, but it is sort of a tradition for me to get back into Forza a month or 2 from the new version. I think I can get it for around $20.
My grandfather told me something years ago…when you “loan” someone something, you loan it to them with knowing you will never see it again. I follow his words to this day. I never “loan” anything to anyone.
Honestly I think u guys blow this way out of proportion. I except that the public hoppers are terrible. I except that T10 have had a half hearted attempt at fixing the issues. But I do not except the game is unplayable or not worth time and effort. I understand most of u want to pick up the game as and when u feel like it and enjoy your online experince. Frankly forza does not provide this and I havnt played a racing game online for the xbox that does provide this. What sets forza out from other titles is the community and the abilty to use that community to make your experince online much better. Stick with it guys and put a little more effort into finding a good group of ppl to race with
T10 have got a long way to go before they create a game thats got the mass appeal that is required to sell a million copies while catering for the more serious player and tailoring the game towards esports.
Sad to see, but in a game with “no rules” we can’t expect players to play in a sportsmanlike manner when they won’t get adequately and swiftly punished for creating negative play experiences.
It’s too late to save Forza Motorsport 6 from this, one would hope that the next title will implement some tools to allow people to self-police public lobbies in order to mitigate this behaviour.
I’ve only played a few times online in the public hours, never with a mic. I, too, have noticed the large number of players that mess up the first turn or have had a race ruined by a deliberate ram. However, I still enjoy the game and will still play in public hoppers from time to time. When you keep in mind there are some that have never driven a real car, many who have never been on a closed race track in any type of performance car, and many that have never driven faster than 80 or 90 mph it makes it totally understandable why you can expect bad driving.
Personally, if I want a more serious online race, I will look for a club on XBL and race with those members. Besides, it is always more fun racing people you know, clubs can institute a standard of behavior and hold members accountable to that behavior.
However, when in public hoppers I simply try to drive clean and be a positive influence as much as possible. Yes, that means resisting the urge to retaliate in any way to these bad drivers.
They should bring back being able to create and name a public lobby and the host can kick bad drivers . It’s the same problem in fh3 , you join a lobby and there’s a few kids on v12 darts and everyone els just dotted around the map doing there own thing, very hard to find like minded players ,…in fh1 you could create a lobby and name it …drags only , pro drift , group cruise etc , so like minded players would end up in the same lobby’s …now it’s join and hope for the best
I’ve abandoned the public lobbies except for the occasional ghost leagues. I still find plenty of pleasure in the Rivals area of the game and in free race mode against the AI. I might be one of the rare players who prefers solo to online multiplayer. If I do play online, it’ll be with a handful of people who I’ve met through forums and Twitch and usually it’s a lot of fun.
A quick nod to T10 for making this game split-screen for on-couch-multiplayer. Not many games do that anymore and I don’t use it much but I’m glad it’s there when I want to play with my kids.
Had a really funny moment in a race yesterday with these “troll” players. I’m driving in C class with my Porsche 914/6 (I have somehow managed to build a decent grip tune on this car). The race starts with me in grid position 12. I’m able to avoid the inevitable first turn crash on Brands Hatch by taking the inside, pushing past those that took the turn wide and sticking with the leaders. I’m now in position 6 as turn 2 comes up. I take the inside again as this car is able to power through turns and gain 5th position. Turn 3 is uneventful, but as I’m coming up to turn 4 I try to take the outside line around 4th place. He swerves to block so I weave to the inside line and start to power past him (again, he has to brake much more aggressively). Seeing that I’m going to pass him, he decides to try to slam into the side of my car to drive me off the track – however, he just manages to push me into the turn a little faster while his car bounces off into the tire barrier. He quits at this point and leaves the race.
Next lap, as I’m entering turn 1 another “troll” decides to to rear end me. He is in a much heavier car, so I’m pushed into the dirt. I lose several spots thanks to this troll, from 4th to 8th. He drops to 7th. I’m able to recover and catch up with him by turn 3. As I get ready to pass, he starts weaving to try to block me passing on either side when suddenly his rear end breaks free and he finds himself headed toward the barrier at turn 4. He recovers and is able to catch up with me again for turn 1. (Yeah, the 914/6 has great grip for corners, but it can easily be overcome in straightaways).
Knowing he rammed me the last time, I brake early and stay on the outside. As he closes the gap to ram – I swerve to the inside at the last moment as he barrels off into the dirt. With no car to slow his progress, he finds the tire barrier. I end up finishing the race in 7th position – and it was alongside some really good racers after that point.
TL;DR; Drive YOUR race, try to stay clean and enjoy the ride and be sure to laugh when you’re able to beat the trolls at their own game.
I haven’t raced online in months and it’s a great shame that’s the case because I’ve been having a great time racing public lobbies since FM2. In fact I’ve had some great times on FM6 but it’s no fun when you’re getting tied up in ridiculous non-racing related accidents.
I’m like you myself, I try to take griefers as a challenge but there comes a point where you have just had enough. Sadly a lot of my friends came to that a while back and I’m the only one that still has FM6. I really do hope that T10 are pouring some serious man hours into balancing future iterations of Motorsport to be clean, fair and fun once again.
I don’t know why we should have to wait until the next FM to make this better. It seems like there should be a way to fix this. They’ve done a lot to fix some of the previous problems, like griefers that would intentionally drive backwards to cause issues.
One problem is the first turn. It’s almost like people don’t understand that you can’t just drive your line on the first corner when there are many other cars in that turn – nor do they seem to understand that plowing through all the other cars is not the way to get ahead. The first turn is always going to be the slowest for you if you are not the lead car – in order to race clean, you MUST be sure to follow and wait for that opportunity to pass later in the race. Sure, there may be a few bumps here and there, but it shouldn’t result in any car losing a position or being rammed into a wall.
This is probably the hardest to fix. I’ve seen a suggestion to keep all cars ghosted for the first lap, but I don’t believe that will fix anything. Besides, part of the thrill is working through the pack while trying to not ruin anyone’s race. Perhaps there could be a scale that indicates if you are a dirty or clean racer, with negative values being dirty racers and positive values being clean racers. The more below 0 you go, the longer your delay in being able to go full throttle – like an engine governor – which will limit your top speed. Maybe you have -300 clean driving so the first 15 seconds of the race you are limited to 75 mph or you can only use 30% of your top RPM for the car. Another dirty driver has -100 clean driving, so he’s capped only for the first 5 seconds.
Points could be awarded in the following way. Every lap grants +20 to your clean driving record. Every slow collision gives you -10 points. Every high speed collision gives you -30 points. A clean lap (without any collisions) gives you an additional +30 points. Points are cumulative, so the more you race clean the less you are affected by the system. The more you race dirty, the more you are affected. No idea if this is even a good idea… just an off the cuff thought.
