You can't connect online and they blamed it on you? Let's see how big this lie is.

So many of us have been (and some of us are still) facing endless problems with connecting to this game’s multiplayer gaming and of course the support is always blaming it on your side and I mean here blaming it on your PC, your windows, your antivirus, your router maybe your neighbors and which breakfast you had the morning before this problem happened with you.

But I guess this is a lie, or let’s be nice and say the " tech giant " is not aware of what’s really happening. We need a proof, here is one.

So your windows teredo is shipped either with (win1711.ipv6.microsoft.com) or (win1807.ipv6.microsoft.com) as the default servers needed for online gaming. You can check that by typing the following command on command prompt:

Netsh Int Teredo Show Stat

Usually Microsoft (or Turn10) sends you to some Microsoft online troubleshooting to try to solve your problem, hopefully. By checking those documents you will notice everything is pointing back at your devices/OS/Anti-virus application and no word at all about there might be something wrong with teredo itself/its Microsoft servers. Most probably they will tell you (your can not play online because YOUR router or your ISP is blocking it or maybe your antivirus. Many maybes here but nothing is really useful.

So let’s dig deep and see how genuine their explanations are:

  • Here I tried the check my connectivity using the default Windows 10 (build 1803) teredo server.

As you can see, NAT is Moderate, sometimes it is restricted but this time I was lucky. But not lucky enough to be able to play online, I mean I paid more than $100 to buy this game and ended up with trying to fix this problem.

Now things are going to be interesting here with image (2)

I changed teredo’s server to (teredo.remlab.net), without changing anything related to my PC hardware or Software. I did that few moments after the first image.

Noticed how NAT changed from Restricted to Cone? Here is my point, They always telling you if your NAT is Restricted or Moderate then the problem is on YOUR side (your HW/SW/ISP), but as we can see changing the server to something else caused it to go green (except the server connectivity is still blocked, I’m not sure why but I’m not ready to accept it is about anything related to my HW/SW at this point after everything I have seen that telling me otherwise).

But we need to be sure that’s the case and the NAT status is related to Microsoft’s servers, so we will re-test the default server once more

Bingo, the NAT is restricted again (on command prompt), although I haven’t changed any of my PC’s HW/SW settings, except using Windows 10 default teredo’s server. So my PC’s settings/Any applications settings/my ISP has nothing to do being unable to play online.

Verdict:

Sometimes for real something related to you HW/SW/ISP is preventing you from playing online gaming, but keep on your mind that if you tried everything and it did not work then no one to blame here but the very same people who did no effort to fix their buggy platforms.

I recommend you guys to avoid any game on XBOX platform and go ahead and reach for YouTubers if you would like this to be discussed by them.

PS: if you are a (cooperate shill), this topic is not suitable for you.
