Hey there, i am trying since yesterday to play online but it doesnt works.
I just got my first house in the game and then tried to go online but it keeps loading for a server and after 5minutes it shows me a DNS error.
So is it only me or are servers down ? i am playing on win10 64bit btw. Teredo thingy is open (just opened it in my router settings but still same result)
Did you try to go into services and restarting the IP Helper service? Works for me every time.
#FIXED.
Everyone who has the same issue, here the Fix:
I realised that my teredo had some trouble so when i went to the win10 settings → play (or game ? my win10 is set to german) → Xbox-Network, i realised that the server connectivity was showing “BLOCKED” while everything else was fine (even if i disabled the teredo filter in my router to avoid teredo getting blocked…).
So i did the following things:
-
First of all i reset my router.
-
After the router reset, the teredo filter was enabled again. So after you reset your router, make sure that the teredo filter is NOT enabled so teredo gets not blocked and xbox can reach the servers, this step is very important (i cant tell you where you find the teredo option in your router … i had to explore my whole router till i found it. If you have a option for “advanced view” in your router, make sure to turn it on before you start searching for the teredo filter).
-
After turning off the teredo filter, my game was able to find servers. But then i got a different message: Region: West europe, and blah blah and below it showed me that it found alot of servers but could not connect to it with a error code.
I figured out that some programs that EVEN if they were closed, were avoiding the game to join on servers so i uninstalled all programs which affect the internet like VPN tools, DNS and proxy tools, even antivirus tools (windows defender don’t counts).
I dont know if its enough to disable your antivirus if you have any but try to deactivate it first and follow the next steps and if it didnt worked, then remove it completly. You dont need to deactivate windows defender since its a part of win10 self and it makes no trouble to the game.
-
Also make sure to uninstall “Intel Management Engine drivers” if you have it installed. According the internet this is 100% blocking teredo to get a connection so please remove it. Its not enough to close the tool from everywhere + task manager… you have to uninstall it like all other vpn tools.
5.Now go to cortana search and type in: Cmd and right click on it and open it as administrator.
In that CMD window type this inside and hit enter: “netsh int ipv6 set teredo client teredo.trex.fi”
(Without quotes).
-
Now close the CMD window.
-
Make sure you enable your firewall (i know alot of people deactivate it mostly but while you play forza horizon 4 please make sure it is enabled or you wont be able to join the servers. I tried to turn it off after my game was working while doing these steps and realised that my game wont join to servers again… so this must be enabled while playing).
-
Now go back again to: win10 settings → play → Xbox-Network.
-
Wait till it shows you the current status. You may see at first time below the status a message saying “Teredo has some connection issues…” or something similar and below of it a button called “FIX” but DONT click on that button yet.
Press the “refresh again” button and wait till it refreshed.
-
You may see now again the same or different error with again the “Fix” button but hit a last time on the “refresh again” button and then you shouldn’t get any errors anymore and your game works fine.
If you should still get a error, then feel free to hit the “fix” button after the second time hitting the “refresh again” button.
