XBOX One and Fanatec Wheel/Pedal Compatibility Finally Announced

It has been long time coming. A lot of happy players as well as angry players I’m going to guess . . .

Fanatec Wheel XBOX One Compatibility

NICE!

“Fanatec plans on releasing a broad range of Xbox One-compatible racing peripherals as well as making their existing product lineup compatible to the next gen console.”

Wait…does this mean my CSR is going to work on the Xbox One soon?

I don’t know. Sounds a bit dodgy to me! Read the bold part. Seems as though it reads that we will have to buy a wheel rim (csw owners) or buy a v2 csw. Am i reading that wrong?

Quote from Fanatecs site.

Available soon, fans will be able to enable Xbox One compatibility on their Fanatec wheel bases by simply attaching an Xbox One steering wheel to an Xbox One enabled Fanatec wheel base (like the ClubSport Wheel Base V2), making their whole system compatible to Xbox One. Additional details and features will be announced soon.
Additional Fanatec peripherals like pedals, shifters or handbrakes that were purchased with an Xbox 360 will also be compatible with Xbox One. The modular configuration system in the Fanatec webshop allows you to purchase only the components you need.

I think the doorway that has been tightly closed has opened but more details are needed to say exactly what will work. At least this news means that MS has worked something out with Fanatec.

I read the the blog on Fanatec’s web sight. The CSV2 wheel base is the only XBone compatible base available to a limited few at this time. They will make other more economical models like the CSR and CSRE for the 360. I took the post to mean that no previous wheel bases before the CSV2 will work with XBone. With the next generation of wheel bases you will need a console specific wheel unless they make a set up specific to the XBone like the CSR series were. It looks like Fanatec is leaning more toward wheel/rim specific products not wheel bases, probably for compatibility with multiple consoles without having a room full of racing set ups.
I think it is still unknown if CSV1 base will be compatible with the latest consoles. I really saw nothing leading me to believe that a XBone rim will make it compatible. That is the only previous base that I could imagine being compatible because it is not 360 specific.

My CSV2 is on its way, but unfortunately there are no wheels available. I want a Formula rim, but there are no rims available yet. So like my CSRE, my CSV2 will be sitting on a shelf watching me race with a Thrustmaster.

The way I read the statement is the only things that will be compatible from previous generations will be pedals, shifters, etc. To use a Fanatec with the XB1, you will need to purchase the CSV2 base and also the new XB1 specific wheel rim they will be releasing. It doesn’t sound like players will be able to use any of the previous gen wheels and bases. However, they do have the loyalty program where you can trade in your existing setup and get credit towards a new one.

This is how read it also…need the csv2 base or a newer base still to be released with an xb1 specific wheel …can use the shifters.pedals etc from some older models though
Dont know about the loyalty program though other than preorders of the v1 being upgraded to the v2

I’ve never heard of Fanatec offering a trade-in service in order to receive credit towards new purchases. There is however a system in place where previous customers who bought either the CSW or Elite wheels will be sent a code for a discount on the CSW v2.

Edit : All existing Fanatec customers will receive the discount code, the order in which they are being sent out is -

1 • Owners of CSR Elite wheel and ClubSport Wheel Base V1
2 • Owners of other Clubsport products: ClubSport Pedals, ClubSport Shifters, ClubSport Handbrake
3 • All other customers

Hey Chris. Hope all is well.

Savoury what happened to you, you were some what of a mentor to me in FM4?

If anyone on here would like a code to pre-order a Fanatec CSW V2 Wheel and save €100 send me a PM and we’ll sort it out.

You must stay in Europe, be able to make the order within 2 months or so and have an email address registered at Fanatec’s webshop.
