I’m just posting this to encourage all of you American Forza 7 players to write to your congressmen about gambling in Forza 7, when it becomes possible to buy loot crates with real money (“tokens” as Turn 10 calls them). Or, you could even write to them now and state that Turn 10 has confirmed [Mod Edit - T10 has not confirmed this. - MM] that it will be possible to buy loot crates with real money (“tokens”) in future.
Why? Think about it, this should be regulated and legalized.
You can buy tokens with real money
You can use those tokens to buy loot crates
Loot crates may contain rare artifacts (cars and/or mods) which have in-game financial value
It is not inconceivable that a black market could develop in which cars are traded for real money
Even if not, the structure of this is identical to gambling in casinos with the only difference being that in a casino, it is possible to win real money. In Forza, you pay with real money but cannot win real money.
The difference is slim enough that I believe this ought to be regulated and legalized. If we do not allow teenagers to gamble in casinos, should they be allowed to gamble in Forza?
Should Forza be age restricted on account of this? Or, should it contain warnings that gambling is addictive?
When you could use tokens to buy cars directly, that is one thing. But this is a whole new level - everyone knows how addictive gambling is. How long before we hear of a man who emptied his savings because he wanted to get that elusive rare car?
At the very least I think a discussion needs to be held about this, and that discussion ought to involve lawmakers. This new development in games is not the kind of thing I think we gamers should just let happen to us. Get the lawmakers involved, let’s get some real debate going about this, which I think needs to happen.
I disagree with this and similar gambling posts. While I don’t particularly care for this type of microtransaction scheme, it is not gambling.
So far you can’t even use real money to buy them.
When you can, a reasonable person should understand that he or she is paying money for a random assortment of virtual items with no intrinsic value. It’s no different than trading card games, sports cards, various loot packs of video games, etc.
I do not agree with this. I’m angry because i always had/bought consoles for a reason. A game should work and have no issues with sound or graphics. A couple of minor bugs i can live with.
Remember Commodore 64 maybe even the Atari 2600jr had bugs in games and i laugh at them because they were silly. Now games come in early acces to test for bugs and when they launch they have still massive bugs.
It became a bug invested industrie. Why launch a game that is not ready? You the industrie have made us mad and this is not alone about your game.
All games i bought on the Xbox One had bugs that ruined the game experience and that made me decide to buy a PC instead of the new One X.
That’s on you developers and publishers.
Don’t be mad at the community or thinking its the new culture.
Why is the Known issues topic not been touched for 12 days? Why cant i find a topic for workarounds?
And why is it so hard to say thank you if i send a PM to SOY about why i can’t join multiplayer with the reason that it could be communicated to the community. A lot of PC gamers never had a Xbox and don’t know the troubles i had with the Xbox live services over the years.
Stop and look at your self before you make a comment like that. You made me mad with that comment.

I don’t think you were able to see the sarcasm in his comment. His comment was targeted at people who post criticism on the internet without any evidence or constructive words to back up their opinions.
If it was sarcasm I don’t know why he wrote it. There are a lot of legit questions that they don’t reply to. I’ve been searching the forum to find nothing. Only post changed or closed by moderators but nothing new on how it is going. Payed €100,- for a product that doesn’t work how it should be. Send a PM to help and they not take the time to say thank you. But they have time to write something like that.
Maybe I let them by a car from me. Its a nice looking car but at every traffic light they have shut down the motor get out get back in again start it and drive to the next traffic light to do it al over again. Just like how we have to play their game. (sarcasm)
And maybe those people you are talking about have other problems. There are so many things i can think of that make them react like that.
I’m recovering from a burnout. 6 months ago I could get angry if you didn’t drink coffee the way i think you should. Does that make me a bad person?
Read a text like that give them a nice answer back and they will calm down. Don’t put oil on the fire with sarcasm it will make it worse. If Hieronymus is born in 1967 he’s 10 years older than me. Then he should know better than to react like that on a forum. Especially when he represents the company.
All the frustration I’ve read here comes from Loot boxes (I don’t get that. I think children love those. The excitement they get must be the same as getting a present.), bugs in the game and no/bad communication.
But hey I’m just a truck driver who loves to game in my free/spare time. Gets exited when a new game comes out that I Like. But the last 3 years no game I bought on Xbox was ready to play the way it should.
Let someone from turn 10 react to my posts. Let them tell me/us that they won’t pull a stunt like this again. I rather wait 6 more months then get another game that isn’t finished.
LAZARUSceelai thank you for the time to read and react to my post/frustration.
Lol this is getting ridiculous now. It’s a game it’s not like you gain anything special out of it and if people are prepared to pay real money for loot crates then more fool them I say.
Then I hope to see no one complaining about future Forza games being built entirely around microtransactions and gambling. If it is okay with you then keep buying it.
BUT THEY’RE NOT THOUGH. I’m tired of everyone saying this because they watched one Jim Sterling/Boogie video about the game. I’ve gotten 230+ cars atm solely from the campaign and leveling up. The only instance where this MIGHT apply is the high end cars that you cant buy outright, but even that will most likely be fixed when Forzathons and the auction house go live. Not to mention how easy it is to afford the 100k CR crates now that we have the NSX FE.
