I hope the access to lobbies and the game in general has been addressed and improved in FM 7. I fully realise the player hub would be based in the USA and Europe but the access for Australia New Zealand South Afirica etc has always been an issue with FM6. We pay the the same and should be treated the same as the rest of the gaming community. I personally have been a long time Forza supporter and hope FM7 has again improved on the last edition.
/\ 1 million times this. Pleaaaaaase !
While I 100% agree, I can’t say it’s likely to happen. Now, I say this because yes, most of their servers are based in the US, with probably a few in Europe. Now, this of course, leaves you guys out. The issue is, they might not be able to build servers in South Africa, Australia, Asia, etc. This could be the fact that it’s too expensive, can’t get approval from the countries themselves, or Microsoft won’t fund them to do so. You have to remember Forza/Turn 10 is owned by Microsoft at the end of the day. So if Microsoft does not see it being worth the money due to the lack of players in those countries, they won’t do it, they are a business first remember. So in turn, if Microsoft says no, Turn 10 can’t do absolutely anything about that. This has been an issue with many games. I understand there are many games out there that do have dedicated servers for your countries, but those tend to be the massive multiplatform games like Battlefield or World of Warcraft (not on consoles I know). I could be also 100% wrong and that Turn 10 just doesn’t care. But I highly doubt that. I’m sure they want every single fan of their franchise to enjoy it equally, as all game developers want. Also, seeing as FH3 took place in Australia, I find it odd they wouldn’t have servers over there and would think they do. But I could be wrong with that too.
Yeah, think you’re right. Same reason perhaps why EA refused to sell Titanfall [which uses Windows Azure] in South Africa a few years back.
Seems there’s some good news for South Africans with Scott Guthrie’s announcement that Microsoft will bring MS Azure Servers to South Africa in 2018. Windows Azure forms the basis of Xbox Live Compute, a feature in XBOne. So it will be here after FM7 release, but something to look forward to.
156 ms lag for Xbox live is saying no they dont not when sydney is only 50ms lag on a server ping. From where I am in Queensland.
I’m wondering if any DNS changes could be made on the Xbox itself or the home router that could allow traffic to be routed better/differently. Fortunately I don’t see the issues being discussed here but I know that to circumvent geo-blocking, DNS settings can be a cheap fix. I wonder if testing multiple DNS settings (and never using WiFi to reduce latency) could help out.
