Here is something to think about.
Yeah, that is crazy to me how we are the testers now. However there is one point to think about when comparing this era to perhaps 10-15 years ago. One is obvious and that the games are more complex. Another is this. Where since a game now takes over 5 years to develop, they may run out of funds to develop their new game since if they did have a previous installent that was doing well, in 4-5 years people would stop buying it due to being bored or simply that it is 5 years old which would in tur…
There was talk about this game not being from “the ground up” because they spotted reused assets. I think that is unfair as games that are under development would naturally use props/cars from their previous installments as placeholders in their new game as to save time/test with things before making it all pretty. Not to mention that a lot of the footage they showed online is old development builds. However I don’t know how old those builds are.
I think a lot of it is built from the ground up. Heck it has been almost 6 years since the last Forza and they have already shown how they develop tracks, it is nuts and is the reason why the game is releasing 1 track at a time instead of pushing back the whole game to include all the tracks.
With how far along we are it is quite hard to look more realistic than even Forza 6 which was 8 years ago. Stuff can look a little better and I’m sure Fm8 will be the point where stuff just can’t really look any more realistic unless they really have an even stronger attention to detail and go crazy with stuff running in the background.
