The game is set in France (among other places), so I suppose it’s POSSIBLE, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. FH1’s Colorado wasn’t ACTUALLY Colorado, after all.
It’d be awesome if the public highway that forms the Mulsanne Straight was in, though. Every time I race that track in FM5, I wanna see where all the blocked-off offramps go.
Exactly. FH1 wasn’t really Colorado. It the took a summary of the state and made it the map. The best parts and variety of it. So just like in “southern Europe”, it’s gunna be a summary of it.
well they did make the great city of denver a racing plaza not a city-- actually the only city was Carson and I dont even thing that was really true lol
We saw this in other open world racing games but will we see it FH2?
What do you guys think would you want to see this ? I would love to see this in fh2 as it acts like a kind of hub for people to race and meet i know thats what the concert sort of is but its not the same im not asking for a real track just some cool little thing where you pull up to a track and drive on to it and away you go.
I think it’s possible. The likelihood of it being a real track seems very, very low because of several reasons; but, I think there is a chance that there might be some sort of motorsports complex in Horizon 2.
In addition to what has already been said refuting the likelihood of real tracks in Horizon 2; I believe licensing may have some objections with plopping a real world track onto a fictional environment - especially one that encourages street racing. We are more likely to see fictional motorsport arenas, if any at all.
Thanks guys i just thought it might be in because in the crew although its open world you can visit other race track like sebring, indianapolis and laguna seca etc.
This would help for more fun situations. I.e yourwith your buddy’s cruising around and there talking trash ‘I’m faster then you’ so instead of opening a whole different lobby for a race you could just pull up to the track (or fast track there) maybe pay like a toll at a gate like real life and race your buddy to prove who’s faster or a better drifter or faster on the 1/4 mile blacktop would be a great and game changing edition to the games social interaction. I’m now thinking more then one sort of track as we’ll maybe rally stages should be in random spots in the world where you don’t need to set up a whole different lobby . I remember playing TDU2 and finding this sort of thing amazing to meet new players and they had a casino I’m not saying I want that I’m just saying ha
You would be looking for Playground Games’ vote, not Turn 10’s. Furthermore, not much has been mentioned about Horizon’s environment in terms of the facilities and festival hubs. We may very well be in for a surprise.
When you think about how “tracks” were approached in the first game, it almost seemed as though most non-street racing events consisted of an impromptu track constructed with jersey barriers which somehow appeared (along with bleachers mind you), after signing up for the race. I wonder if instead, the new game will be more believable in the sense that perhaps there would be less structure built up for each race and the turns only would be blocked off with barriers or police vehicles. Horizon 1 also placed spectators at what I what look at are extremely risky or fatal parts of the track to be standing when cars moving 120mph+ are barreling towards them.
In terms of tracks, it would be interesting to see them integrated into the landscape in such that when an event is scheduled at a track, you actually had to drive there, and that the track as a physical environmental object would be a part of the landscape and map bounds. I know it’s a stretch and at this stage of development the map is all but complete, but they could incorporate one large speedway track, perhaps a small oval or paper clip track, and maybe a little dirt track and/or rally stage course.
