Seriously tired of those guys that sit in the back and gain points for the whole race just to win. Go play Tony Hawk if all your about is points. I don’t mind the extra points, but winning the whole race by acting retarded kinda kills the point of the race don’t it? The guy in back of NASCAR would be stinking rich if this was a realistic concept.
If you disagree with this post, Then please explain and maybe I will understand. Other wise, can we make sure this might not be a issue in FH3?
Agreed, I’m a racer and would rather be known for racing well and winning than for sitting at the starting line and doing donuts like a pig. It’s been mentioned and beat to death dozens of times before, but you should DNF and not get points at all if you don’t make it past a certain percentage in the race.
That said, the game keeps track of your race finish position and your stats reflect how many races you finish in 1st place, in the top 3 places, and how many you DNF. The game does not keep stats on how many road trips you finish in 1st place and therefore, I’d rather finish as best as I can and still lose the road trip to some kid who doesn’t know how to drive.
Anyone can sit in place and drift around an open field and get tons of skill points with relative ease but not everyone can win 1st place for all the races (statistically - only 1 in 12 can per lobby, right) and I’d rather be that 1.
Hopefully, this is modified in FH3 to make races more weighted towards winning the race and make playground games and drift events more weighted towards skill points.
However, they quit whenever they play King or Infected in the Road Trip.
By the way, Turn 10, the points system for the 360 version is a bad idea too - when you are first Infected, you get, in a full lobby, one point on a possibility of 20 in one Road Trip of Playground; plus, even when you are first on the King game, you can only get 11 points, which ranks you in the middle of the lobby.
This is why I returned to Horizon 1 on line; I’m done playing Horizon 2 Xbox One on line.
Agreed. I already have 50 million+ credits I will never spend so I don’t care about them. All I wanna do is win races and arbitrary championship points mean less than zero to me.
I have to agree with the OP. This is what put me off of FH2. While I understand what Eduardo is saying and it is nice to win, it would also be nice to win the overall. But regardless, I guess the main thing is if you’re having fun, then just keep playing the game and don’t worry about the points total at the end of the road trips. But I do sincerely hope PG takes a look at this and brings back the lobby based system from FH1. I don’t like having playground games mixed in with races. When I want to race, I want to race. Every now and then it’s nice to play tag or virus, but keep it separate.
When I race online road trips, I only care to arrive first, because online winning % its what I care about, not winning on XP, yes I do some drifting and high skills between races so I can keep up in the XP points. Btw there’s nothing better to beat drifters on XP championship and arrive 1st in the races
This could be easily tweaked if they weighted winning the races a little more heavily, and gave the tail end of the race minimal to no reward. I also think if you don’t finish the race, you should get Zero XP. I can win either way–drifting in the back or by winning the race and making sure to load up a couple chains along the way. The most important part I see that shouldn’t be missed in ORT is destination to destination. Those XP are so important, that I feel if you miss even one, your chances for hitting the Podium decrease.
I totally understand your point OP. I am somewhere in the middle. The team that made this game designed it as such, therefore I will play by their rules and do my best to win–their way.
The best is when you are leading the XP championship by a narrow margin, and the 2nd place guy is put on your team for a race. I race to win, so my entire team benefits from me finishing first, but this guy knows I’ll literally carry the team, so he sits back and drifts to pass me on the XP board. I have never wanted to beat someone over the head with a cinder block, even when being spawn massacred in GTAV, but people like this make me think about it.
