Why is the AI so slow

I’m trying it on default difficulty so that may be it, but they stop on the exit of corners sometimes. It feels like I’m racing mobile chicanes

I have it on unbeatable, on some tracks the AI are a full seconds faster.

Turn up the AI difficulty.

OK, so it’s difficulty? I can try turning it up soon

For me it’s exactly the opposite. I’ve never had a problem with the drivatars feeling too hard in Forza 6 on Xbox One, even on the harder difficulties I was still able to win without too many complications.

In Apex however, I barely stand a chance against average difficulty. Some races even give me trouble on “new driver” difficulty, this is something I’ve never experienced in any other Forza game, and it’s quite frustrating because it feels completely broken.

I agree, the AI still needs work. The stopping in corners is a big problem. It should not matter what difficulty setting you are on, the cars should not stop in the corners. Everywhere else on the track the cars maintain a competitive speed. The game looks great and the physics are pretty good. I have been having fun racing the Corvette race car at Sebring, would like to be able to select only race cars to drive against. I tried the Peugeot LMP at SPA and it was un-drivable, could not see out of it and all of the other cars were constantly stopping in the corners.

The Rio De Janeiro AI seems a lot quicker.

I don’t remember having much trouble with the AI in the earlier events. The Spa event with the Huracan or 458 Speciale (depending on which you picked) is where the issue becomes really apparent

I change to the second hardest AI setting and some of the cars I notice putting on their brakes even on the straights, I know this because I can see their brake lights. The AI may be OK for an arcade game but if they want it to be realistic they need to work on the AI. The game looks realistic I would assume they would want the racing to be realistic as well, just a suggestion. I would not mind the cars slowing down so much except that they get in the way as I am trying to catch the lead cars.

I am having no trouble with the AI at all, I’ve set it on expert though. I’d like to set it even higher but because of the random start placement you are at a massive disadvantage since you have to pass 8-13 cars before you’re 3rd. By that time the first two cars are long gone and you can’t catch up anymore. At least that’s with these low lap count races.
It would be nice if Forza 7 had a qualification round of some sort where you could control how far up the grid you end up.

I play with all assists off, AI difficulty on unbeatable… Man this game is tough. I could win most of the time if we had some sort of qualifying lap or longer races (starting me way in the back sucks) but on a 3 or 4 lap race it’s very very difficult. I’m a pretty good driver (scored #6 on the Italian Greats event, generally in the top 100ish on the first try) and I love a challenge, but starting in the back just makes the game unfair.

The AI drivers that you have to pass first are markedly slower than the lead cars, which means you’re trailing them and driving slower until you pass all of them. Passing 10 cars in 3 laps then catching up and passing the last 3 lead cars is a little over the top, I wish that we could set the race length. Or like I said have a qualifying lap, where the AI sets their own times and you have to beat them in order to get put higher up on the starting grid.

Weird changing Assists seems replace drivatars. So when I put some assists on (I usually put almost all assists of only using braking lines). So nos drivatars changed and I completed game. Now I try take those assists off and race again. Great game still even drivatars dont follow settings always.
