Why is every Rx7 in the auction house being sold for 4+ millions?

And why are people even buying them? Isn’t this technically scamming people? I may get that someone wants to pay that much for a paint job but, 5 million for a tune? I’m blown away.

I’m thinking it has nothing to do with the paint or tune at all, It’s just because people want to have another RX-7 in their garage, I know because I was looking into buying one from the auction house just to have another one until I saw the price and thought it was crazy. But it’s a rare car you have to work hard for and they’re in high demand so to me it makes sense, to me at least.

as you can only get 1 per playthrough i assume, Idk how stuff works or if u even can start over again, I kind of understand it ( i tend to have duplicates of cars i enjoy this way it’s easier to experiment with your tune) i know u can just safe multiple tunes but that doesnt work for me somehow, prolly because i usually dont bother doing much to the cars in terms of paint so they look alike sometimes

Not every car cost millions. I have bought (and sold) 4 rx-7s at normal prices (40-150k). Just spend some time in the auction house and you’ll get one cheap.

Ive bought two. One for 20k another for about 100k. It’s simple supply and demand. A lot of people want them and everyone gets only one and even that after hours of gameplay.

I wanted more than one to allow for different builds.

It’s interesting to notice that absolutely none of the barn finds have this kind of market.

the thing is, a lot of people think they can turn and flip the vehicle for more and or that the car is special edition…because why would it cost that much if it weren’t, right? The problem I have with it is that these people selling these cars are putting out the same product over and over again without changing much. It would one thing for them to give you a one off vehicle but no, its just rinse and repeat. I pity the fool who spends his reserve on one of these cars thinking he/she is getting a special car.

It’s ridiculous, I’ve been lucky enough to get one for cheap. I wanted one more to have my trifecta of motor tunes (one 13b, one 26b, and one v8) so I can directly compare them around the course for my own amusement. I remember finding another cheap one only to be snipped from me and then put back on auction 10 minutes later, with the same bland paint, but now for 8 million starting price. It’s a little infuriating especially for someone that’s actually interested in using the car.

Took me about 20 minutes in the first week of the game coming out to buy 3 FDs for 30-50k each.

They seemed to sell straight away, but as an RX7 owner I had to have a recreation of my car & some more to have different class tunes for.

I think the reason of the rising popularity is the fact it is such an iconic car. Fingers crossed they bring out a 99 spec as some extra customisation or something - as those of us who strive to recreate our real life cars are a bit stuck without the OEM options.

Also - don’t forget this car has a few famous versions - Dom is Fast & furious 1, Hans in F&F Tokyo Drift, Mad Mike with his selection of 7s and initial D to name a few.

I think it’d be the same story if they did this with a R34, or Supra. The JDM heroes will always be in high demand due to their cult followings & the fact people strive for them in game & real life.

Nice, another RX7 owner. I had to try and recreate my DD unfortunately they don’t have my spoiler or bumper.

I never use my RX7, i just might throw it out there and make some good coin

No one in this thread has mentioned why some people can charge alot more than others, its all down to painter/tuner status the higher it is the more they can charge people. Not just anyone can charge millions for the cars unfortunately.

Yep it’s status. Legendary status can have higher start and payout the elite who can have higher then amateur. Etc.

I snagged one for 19k a few days ago, I just happened to search the same time it was listed. A week or two before that I went to buy one but someone else got it before I could hit the buyout button. I kept the one I got from the race stockish, and the one from the auction house is a Rocket Bunny Mad Mike drift car.

After reading this thread i got one from the Auction house for 99k bucks.
