Why does the 911RSR sound so bad?

It sounded incredible in Forza 4, so full, such an amazing induction noise… now it sounds like it has no balls to it whatsoever. In Forza 4 it sounded pretty much identical as it sounded in GTR2, which was a game with one of the most accurate race car sounds ever. In Forza 6, there isn’t even a transmission whine. WHY!? Why downgrade from Forza 4!?

I find some of the engine sounds better than Forza 4 (Carrera GT, Audi’s) and a lot worse (BMW inline 6’s, race cars) why such inconsistency?

The engine and transmission noises for me are at least as important as the graphics, and not many of the racing cars sound like racing cars which kills immersion especially in endurance type of races.

Loving the game tho, but not as much as Forza 4.

I almost skipped this game when I saw that I couldn’t turn up the engine sound. It is a very big deal. It’s a shame that the sound has had to suffer in so many ways. It makes no sense.

Countless threads and comments about FM6 sound taking a backseat. I’ve been an active contributor myself - sometimes the developers listen when a lot of people raise their voices, like with the GT350 and V8 supercars, sometimes they don’t… LaFerrari, P1, SLS and a few other iconic cars like the F40 which just sound downgraded and not quite as spot on as some of the other ones in F6.

As for the Porsches in the game, I believe they sound quite good, though I haven’t driven them in F4.

To this day, F4 and 5 truly are the highlight in the series in terms of car sound accuracy.

I will go on record again to say that the devs will hopefully tap into their creative origins again and focus more on quality rather than quantity. Enough said.

Simple answer- Forza

That is all

I don’t agree that it’s “just Forza”. The Carrera GT for example sounds fantastic, better than in Forza 4. Most V8’s sound good, like the RS7 etc. Honda V-tec sound good. But the BMW’s have been ruined and most if not all race cars sound like dirt.

Well yeah, my comment wasn’t completely serious. Just saying it as a joke.

I love the way the 962 sounds especially when downshifting and slowing down for a corner…just awesome

Agreed - the downshifting sounds are beautiful on many cars. Though I don’t understand why they sound a bit goofy and “digitized” on other cars like the F40 and LaFerrari, for example. It can’t be a sound system or setup thing because then almost every car should sound wierd. I guess this is what happens when you’re trying to cram too many cars and not all of them get the VIP treatment. To this day, I’m a bit sore about the LaF, 80s GTO and F40 - the latter two sounded so darn true-to-character in F4 and 5.

The Lambos downshifting… ah, those wonderful goosebumps that follow!
