In my experience more then half of every grid (probably 3/4ths most of the time) use the default paint that cars come with.
Personally, one of my favorite things about buying and trying a new car is finding a preem paint job to throw on it. I really don’t understand why so few people use this feature which is one of the best things about the forza franchise.
Stock paint scheme people, please explain yourselves.

May as well ask why some people prefer vanilla over chocolate.

What about when it comes to race car liveries?
Unless it has its own race car livery by default I prefear a low profile livery, usually original brand stock colors, I sometimes use white to remember i didn’t tune it yet
Livery details costs performance. Since I’d see blurry details, and they load as the race progresses, I turn A.I. and multiplayer liveries off, and only paint my car a different color.
I use racing liveries 99% of the time. But the game is so buggy that I have to turn off the liveries of the other cars.
You know what i will follow you @DTDeschain2535 on Xbox network or whatever it’s called to see your liveries, when i activate them again.

Are you able to see my liveries just from following me? How does that work?
I’ll post pics of my favorites I’ve found tomorrow, maybe it’ll inspire people to try some haha.
I used to spend ages painting and detailing my cars but now I can’t be bothered. The cars I’ve spent time tuning all get painted a bright orange so I can sort them easily. Each version of Forza I change the colour I use. FH5 it’s purple and F7 was pink.

Making your own takes a lot of time.
Downloading one takes a surprising amount of time as well. Not only because the UI is terrible and it loads forever, but also if I’m downloading one, it needs to be proper. And there is a lot of chaff to sift through.

I never thought this post would open my mind to the ways so many people use liveried to organize their cars. Guys are blowing my mind right now.

If you follow ppl they are part of the Drivatars that you see while racing, this way you can see the liveries the ppl have put on their cars.
I follow Wombi62 for example, he creates many racing liveries so i can always see his liveries and that is cool.

The worst thing is when you see a great livery, take 60 seconds to d/l it. And then see a bunch of stupid/ugly nonsense on the bumper you couldn’t see while browsing

I have this theory. People does not use the custom livery because when you purchase said car, you are given options to factory paint and custom paint, but custom designs window(option) is not there. You have to manually select the car from main menu(exiting current event), then scroll down loads of manufacturers, then select car and choose designs, which takes 1-2 mins to load. It’s a very lengthy process and not very user friendly. In horizon, the community designs/liveries are always there next to purchase car tab. But in Motorsport its a lengthy process.

I also follow Don Joewon Song, he also creates great liveries. If you browse through the custom liveries if you put one on your car, just remember their names if you like them. And later if you are sure you want to see theirs ingame, just follow them in the Xbox network or whatever it’s called.
I open up the menu using WINDOWS+G to search for them. I guess even if you play it on console, you can follow them from windows i mean it’s the same network. It’s probably easier and faster doing it on PC.
You will also play against them in rivals then. But oh boy i think Don Joewon Song is a pretty hardcore good driver, i will probably never beat him lol.

It’s like the cars don’t have the same meshes like before. Maybe some of them have been rescanned/remade whatever, or something went wrong when they got imported from previous games.
I noticed this too, i always look very closely after i downloaded one. Sometimes it’s really nasty, i remember a livery of the BMW 850 CSI where there was a sort of bleed effect around the trunk. It looked so horrible, it took a while to find a livery that i liked.
But sometimes it’s also just the wrong spoiler, bumper or whatever. If there are muliple to choose from.
When you say follow, is that the same as adding them as friends?
No it’s not, it’s just follow afaik.
Ppl don’t have 200K+ friends in their friendslist.
