On the xbox I still never or very rarely encounter a car with custom drivatar liverys while racing. Also, some the cars still look matte sometimes.
I have all the updates, did hard resets with my console and started new races. I think I saw 1 car out of 24 with a custom livery today.
I wonder if they have custom liveries - we just can’t tell the difference.
There are an awful lot of just plain painted cars uploaded by players, these often end up ahead of cars people have actually spent time on as there is no storefront or space to advertise the fact that they have painted a certain car.
I’ve only uploaded one car paint to the sharefront at the moment, so far zero downloads as I’ve not put it on the forums which car it is, so it’s lost in the abyss which is the sharefront lol. Unless someone’s actually looking for it, they won’t see it ever - between featured cars & uploaded base paints it’ll never get a look in as it stands.
It’ll be interesting when the AH launches as we may well have an alternate means of advertising our cars there - depending on how it works, we could put one up for a silly price nobody in their right mind would bid on but stick a big sticker on it saying available in sharefront.
Or they might not be loading paints in game, hard to say. I’m pretty sure I saw more painted cars early on in the career than I have in recent weeks but that might again be a knock on from more players getting the game and uploading base paints.
I almost never see the liveries either. I might have seen one or two and I’ve done a lot of races.
I do a lot of 1 vs 1 in Freeplay and I don’t believe a customer livery has loaded once. Just a couple of times in Campaign and one out of 23 drivatars had a custom livery.
How this one got out the door without being caught is quite damning to T10. It’s been working fine in all the previous games that had the feature so it says a lot about the state of FM7.
Same. Mostly flat gray color including my own car. Sometimes after a race or two my livery will appear
And then there’s the game freezing…
Fingers crossed for that update
I seen a record high three custom liveries earlier today racing Formula Mazda, so there was also twenty cars with the stock Bondurant scheme.
I made a few liveries for my Chevrolet SS NASCARS (One paint for each Chevy SS.) and surprisingly, I’ve had about 8 or so downloads with each of them within a few days, so at least I know people are seeing my liveries.
I have been seeing more liveries out on the track, but it’s usually like 2 or 3 cars within a full field.
Still get common occasions where cars are showing up Matte Orange.
I suspect there is two reasons for it. One: Less players. Over the last week my drivatar races have dropped severely from 300+ races to less than 50. Less players equal less livery downloads - and in fact my income from liveries went from a couple of thousand every day to zero over this last week. Second and even worse: You now buy a lot of cars at levelups. But then you are never asked for a color/livery, you just get the car with default color. Since the only way to change the livery is to select the car in the garage, then go to paint, then find new design I fear most people simply don’t care or don’t know how to get liveries.
Yes hiding the storefront is an issue but this isn’t how the drivatar livery system works. I have friends that don’t own any forza games whose gamer id is assigned to a drivatar with a custom livery in FM6 and FH3.
Same deal here. I ran some E-class this afternoon and not one single custom livery, other than mine. This evening I did a couple of Supercar races and maybe half or less of the cars were custom jobs.
I think, one of the main problems are the lootboxes. The cars are given to us as cards because of the loot system. We get the same cards for levelups, as bonuscars or by purchases with the collection-overview. In former games, we brought cars and got a livery-selection during this process. Thanks to the lootboxes, T10 had to decide to make a loot-friendly or a community-friendly system… I will not blame them, but it’s a great example how effected all players are by the implementation of lootsystems, even if thoses players never buy a lootbox.
One of the best parts of FH3 was racing in the Tuner division and seeing cars with Time-attack style liveries and actually using the widebody kits.
For me the recommended paints when buying a car don’t seem to be working right so I haven’t bothered to put a custom paint on any of my cars. There’s also much less paints in game at this point. Other players might be doing the same as me.

I generally only have a custom livery if I make one myself. But I haven’t spent any time in the vinyl creator so far, nor have I bothered importing my designs. Largely because I’ve been focused on the career races, wherein I choose a car and then I’m just tossed into races so that’s what I do. I did import my NASCAR parody Valvoline livery for the limo with the intent to do one of the career Open series, only to discover I couldn’t use that car. And possibly my Queen Cobra for that Vantage that looks similar to a Mustang.
But I haven’t noticed any weird matte jobs, either. Mostly shiny manufacturer paints with an occasional custom or three.
same here , My car is usually a grey color and AI are just base colors
I’ve noticed several in most of my races. I’m thinking certain divisions have more custom paints than others, but at the same time there are less available. In previous games, there were pages and pages of liveries available, now I’m lucky to get two pages.
